Would you rather EA ship it, never patch it and instead focus all resources on making expansion packs that make more bugs?

I bought BF2142 this past Saturday. I patched it. I've run into one bug that required a reboot. I played the game for about 10 hours after I got it.

I never played BF 2, so I can't comment on that...BF2142 rocks pretty hard. Best online game I've played in ages.

EA is putting up unrealistic deadlines for a second/amateur/whatever word you use developer who can't keep up.

Anything I'm missing here? Also, look at it this way, at least it's a good excuse for BF1942 servers to have players again :)

I purchased BF2 and after running into many bug issues I decided that it wasn't worth it and havn't played in over a year.

However, the other night I was bored and reloaded Shogo, C&C Renegade and BF 1942/ Road to Rome. Then I started playing 1942 at 10pm, just a couple o' quick matches mind you.

Finished playing and looked at the clock.....1AM! Man, I had forgotten how much 1942 sucks me in while playing. I was on a server where everyone else was in their late 20s-early 40s.

Everyone was playing well and it was an absolute blast. I'm staying with 1942 and will *NOT* be picking up 2142 until EA learns their lesson and stops releasing Alpha builds along with putting borderline spyware in the offerings.

people on this board must be young, i refuse to accuse anyone of this level of stupidity but EA is at fault for whatever happens to BF series with a good amount of blame dealt to DICE. Someone else got it right on the money, AAA ideas, B skills. EA shoulda been able to help with that, but their project managers do too much coke and spent all their time and money on IGA.

Is it bad to have patches on Day Zero? YES!!! WHY? It shoulda never went gold if you had to patch it so early. It shoulda stayed in dev. If you can't understand that point, then the rest of real life will be hard for you. Patching is good, but a game that needs a patch before its out a month shoulda never made it to gold.

I purchased BF2, and had basically none of the problems people always heard about, but my friend who got it before I even did has made me deal with at least half the issues regarding the stability / reliability of this game. He is not a PC expert, which is why I fix his PC problems.

But everyone should at least by this point know that it is publicly known that the BF series was and still is one of the most buggy set of games ever released.
