Come on guys. 1 GB of ram? BS. You gotta have at least 1.5 GB's of ram. x800xt + o/c 2500+ -> 3000+ w/ 1.5 GB of ram = smooooooooooooooooooth
my other rig for playing at work is an athlon 64 3000+ w/ 1 GB of ram and x800xl and it's just okay because of the ram.

I was playing it on LAN with a P4 2.4, 512mb RAM and a Radeon 9600..was perfectly playable, but IIRC, everything was on low detail & low res.

Hmm, I'm fine here (sux 4 u)
Mobile Athlon XP 2600+ at stock speeds ATM
1 GB OCZ Plat 3200 RAM (2-2-2, might help I guess)
GeForce 6800GT OC'd to Ultra+ speeds

Everything at high, 2xAA, 1152x864 (POS doesn't even have 1280x1024 in the menu!!), no stuttering, and wait till you hear this

P-M 760, 1GB RAM, GeForce 6800 Go (256mb ram) EVERYTHING on high, no AA, 1920x1200 and its smooth as butter (on my Dell Inspiron 9300)

Pretty woman, walking down the street
Pretty woman, the kind I like to meet
Pretty woman
I don't believe you, you're not the truth
No one could look as good as you
Mercy

Pretty woman, won't you pardon me
Pretty woman, I couldn't help see
Pretty woman
That you look lovely as can be
Are you lonely just like me
Wow

Pretty woman, stop a while
Pretty woman, talk a while
Pretty woman, gave your smile to me
Pretty woman, yeah yeah yeah
Pretty woman, look my way
Pretty woman, say you'll stay with me
'Cause I need you, I'll trear you right
Come with me baby, be mine tonight

Pretty woman, don't walk on by
Pretty woman, make me cry
Pretty woman, don't walk away, hey...okay
If that's the way it must be, okay
I guess I'll go on home, it's late
There'll be tomorrow nigh, but wait
What do I see
Is she walking back to me
Yeah, she's walking back to me
Oh, oh, Pretty woman

Wanna meat out back later? :lips:

I have:

amd64 3200+
1 GB
6600GT AGP

I run a mix of low/medium with geometry set to high, 1280x1024 no AA.

During single player I get 70-80 average fps. When I go online to 64 player server, I get around 40-50 fps.

I've never played on ranked servers, but bf2 forum posts suggests that ranked servers are laggy cause they also track the stats (more work for the server's cpu). An overloaded server can cause alot of lag. As an example, tonight I played on a 64 player server which for one map had the battle recorder running. It was extremely laggy but when it was turned off for the next map, all the lag went away.

What this means is that it's not just the specs for your machine, it's the specs of the server and the features they are trying to run on it. My suggestion would be to try several unranked servers to see if you can get a less laggy game.

I don't know whats wrong with you guys, but I play it at medium settings (800x600) just fine with the following:

Barton 2500+
1 GB RAM
9700 Pro

I basically had the same setup a few weeks ago except with a 9800pro

It still sucked

you guys are crazy with the overspecs. I play online with:

1700+ @2400+
512mb pc3200
ATI 9500 np 128mb :D

at 1024x768 low settings, works fine for me. Takes forever to load but once it does, no lag.

learn to adjust settings or config you computers. You can't play every game with 4xAA and high settings.

I heard that too much porn on your computer slows down BF2 only.

define 'too much' ;)

You see, goosemaster thinks the game stutters because of his computer. I think the game stutters because his hand and mouse are sticky. From what? Well, that's when the "too much porn" part comes in :)

My friend had a similar problem, good graphics card, cpu, ok ram. Getting him a new HD made a huge improvement, went from unplayable to high settings. I figure that the new HD helped because it started fresh, free of spyware and anything else on there, but also because he was using his paging file a lot while playing the game, so the new HD was faster.

Well, I'm off to play BF2 now.
