Finished the game last night. Neck and neck with The Last of Us as the best games of the year as far as I'm concerned. The voice acting, motion capture, visuals, and set pieces were as good as it gets in sections, and, thankfully, the plot stayed strong and didn't devolve into a muddy mess. It'd also be criminal not to mention what a fantastic job Ellen Page and the rest of the cast did throughout the game. It's rare to see such a top to bottom effort put into motion capture and dialogue; though Quantic Dream still needs to tighten up their movement controls and the fluidity of changing directions (quick camera angle changes occasionally had me going in circles). I hate to nitpick too much though because direct control, and the streamlined interactions, were a big improvement over what was done in Heavy Rain.
