Do you get all your news and information from comedians?

No.

Perhaps the idea of a "source" is something new to certain people though.

Check your score against these averages:
? "The Daily Show" with Jon Stewart viewers - 3.59 correct
? "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno viewers - 2.95 correct
? "Late Show" with David Letterman viewers - 2.91 correct
? No late-night comedy viewing - 2.62 correct

I got 5 out of 6. I thought Kerry's tax was going to be on those making $100K or more combined, but CNN had it as $200K.

The only scary thing is that the highest average score was 3.5! Maybe I should watch more television . . .

I got 5 out of 6 as well. I missed the one about labor unions.

I completely bombed the Pop Quiz though. (2 out of 7) :(

go read al franken's book the lying liars, it spends a few chapters with specific examples of how biased fox is, don't gimme "well he is a liberal" because unlike ann coulter, he uses real sources for his research (he spends a chapter talking about how she writes). just read it and get back to this forum, it might just enlighten you

I hope FOX is biased. Bout time we had media on our side. The MSM was so left leaning for so many years, I thought it would surely flip and sink. They didn't call CNN the Clinton News Network for nothing and CNN International is still way out in left field. Since the EUR version is run out of London with UK anchors, it's no wonder. Never hear a lib complaining about any of the media leaning too far left, do we?

This whole lefty media thing is really silly. Perhaps we're talking about the same media that made a huge deal for months and months and months out of Clinton having an affair and then lying about it so his wife wouldn't fine out. And of course that very same "liberal media" glosses over the fact that the President of the United States convinces us to invade another country to secure WMDs that, whoops, didn't exist.

Even when I considered myself a proud righty, I never understood the whole railing against the media thing the right has going on. Now that I no longer side with you guys, I don't understand it any better.

You know, if liberals weren't so biased and didn't lie so much, you might have a point. Any bias to the right just balances the heavy list to the left of the MSM! I'm glad to see both sides of the story getting out for a change. Did Al Franken mention the left bias that has been in MSM for the last 30 or so years? I guess that if he doesn't, he just isn't very impartial. I haven't read it, but feel that the assumption that he doesn't is pretty safe!

That must be why only libs thought the sex thing was the problem. Perhaps if the liberally biased media had given some coverage to the other issues surrounding his presidency, there would be fewer voting liberals these days.

Actually, I find most of the media to give pretty good coverage to both sides now. That started happening just after the attorneys decided that Bush had won the first round and really slumped during the run up to this election and has evened out a lot since.

I don't know of any news media that is balanced. The only balance is in watching all of them and trying to figure out just what the captain really meant. Fair is another issue. Some are sometimes fair.

Having watched the news from near the center of various news making events over the past twenty years, it is just amazing how far the media is from reality. I was in San Salvador when a bunch of news people arrived on the same flight. They stayed in the same hotel, the Sheraton and all I saw the bunch of them doing was lounging by the pool, drinking very heavily, and having the occasional chair fight. After they left, I read some of the so-called coverage and it contained things like "riding in the jeep from the airport, the dust was choking in the heat". San Salvador is a very temperate, mountain area with a very lush climate and the road from the airport is paved! Over and above that, their damxed limo was air-conditioned! Friends, that is media at its best.

The only newsperson that I believe is Christian Amanpour. I still remember when she shook her finger in Clinton's face and was banned for better than a year after. She started reappearing after Bush came to office and is seen occasionally now. When she does report, it is usually from someplace no one else would go and she is pretty accurate. She is pretty harsh with the Bush administration, but not censored like she was during Clinton.

OK, just one. Clinton's mess was only about Lewinski. That was the fog the liberal press presented to keep the nation away from the real issues like his demolition of the military and the severe underfunding of federal agencies. No coverage os claims made in sources like the Clinton Chronicles. Not saying they were true, but there was a lot of vid there and the accusations should have been addressed. Like White Water! That was certainly tilted by the press! No hours of video showing the people who had invested as they were booted out of their houses with their four kids. You know, the stuff they show at every opportunity about Bush and then have to recant.

Do you get all your news and information from comedians?

No.

Perhaps the idea of a "source" is something new to certain people though.

I got a 6 out of 6 on the first try, and I watch FoxNews 90% of the time I'm watching TV.

However, I find it interesting that CNN names the article "'Daily Show' viewers ace political quiz", when his viewers averaged 3.6/6. Uhh, that's hardly 'acing' it.

Why use pages when a sentence will suffice? There are altogether too many here who type paragraphs to make a single point. Verbose has value, but I'm not writing a book.

Not so bad, but everyone here posts with an objective. You say the news media is biased, they can't hold a candle to P&Ners! Both sides (and there aren't many fence straddlers here) have formed an early precept and just research and post to support it. When I see someone posting from both sides, I give their posting a serious read. Mostly, that doesn't happen. Far better to watch TV! I do both and I also read a lot and listen to a lot of HF radio. I get everyones bias and then analyse it to formulate mine!

Perhaps Soros will buy it out and start putting some real news and truth out there.
