I'm biased as a Dallas fan, but I still think the Pats are simply downright scary good. Moss was awesome when he had a dolt like Culpepper throwing the ball up for grabs all the time. Now that he has a real QB that can actually get him the ball in the right spot most of the time, DB's have very very little chance to defend him. I don't see any team beating the pats anytime soon, though I'll be rooting for the 'Boys of course.

I love your line of thinking and agree. The Hawks will only improve as the season goes on, they are a team that rolls with momentum. Their D is doing great and their offense will be improving. Looking at Seattles schedule, its hard to imagine them not coasting to the playoffs. Even a huge fan like myself can agree that their schedule looks pretty soft (time will tell though).
On another note, if shittsburgh continues to mouth off in interviews about the Hawks, they will be in for a big surprise come Sunday. We have already knocked the sh1t out of two quarterbacks this season, I can only hope that Rocky can ride piggyback on toothlessburger this Sunday (only for one game, no one wants season ending injuries 😉 ).

You can make arguments about Harrison vs Moss. Moss is faster and clearly more athletic, but no one in the league runs better routes than Harrison. I think its been generally accepted nowadays (outside of Boston) that Peyton is better than Brady.
Plus, there's the issue of rapport. Peyton/Harrison have been doing this for years. There's a reason they have more TD hookups than any QB/WR combo in NFL history.
Position for position, the Colts are better than the Patriots on offense, although it is close. Where the Patriots pull away by a large margin is on defense - the Colts are inconsistant there, whereas the Patriots are very strong, and very deep. Who wins this matchup largely depends on which Colts defense decides to show.

The Cowboys iirc are the most penalized team in NFL this season AND still the highest scoring team. They just got Ellis back and soon Tank. Get the penalties under control and forget about it. It's over baby! 😉

Let's go position by position:
On offense-
QB - Advantage Colts, Manning has proven it. He's had longer to work with good receivers, but you can't quantify how well Brady would've done with better receivers over the last 5 years. Plus Manning doesn't need the Rookie Wristband to know which play to run.
RB - Advantage Colts, barely. Joseph Addai is better than any one RB on the Pats* roster, but the Pats* in total have a better RB core in Maroney, Morris, and Faulk. Colts have Addai, then the unproven Kenton Keith, then Luke "Nobody" Lawton.
WR - Advantage Colts, the sum of Harrison, Wayne, Clark (he often plays as a WR despite his TE status), and Gonzales is stronger than Moss, Welker, and Stallworth. However, Moss is the most talented WR of all time when he wants to be.
TE - Push. Dallas Clark is more of an offensive weapon, but Ben Watson is probably better at blocking and is pretty good receiving the ball too. Utecht and Fletcher are more offensively dangerous than Kyle Brady. Does David Thomas even get playing time?
OL - Push. Both are playing at a high level right now. If Tarik Glenn were still playing I'd probably say advantage Colts, but both have only allowed 3 sacks this season, and both are doing a good job opening running lanes.
On defense-
DT - Advantage Pats*, Wilfork is a beast, Colts DTs are both under 300 lbs, one is a converted DE, the other is an undrafted rookie free agent. Granted, they're both playing much better than expected, but Wilfork could eat them.
DE - Push 'til Seymour gets back. Freeney is very talented and is always creating disruption in the backfield despite the low sack count. Mathis is also a good pass rusher but is inexplicably not getting as much playing time this season. Ty Warren is or should be a Pro Bowler, and Jarvis Green has 3 sacks this year.
LB - Advantage Pats*. Thomas, Vrabel, Bruschi, and Colvin are possibly the best LB core in football. And Vrabel can catch passes, too! Freddy Keiaho looks like he might be a good player, but Morris just got hurt, and Brackett is good, but there's really no comparison here.
CB - Push. Marlin Jackson is playing at a high level right now, but Kelvin Hayden isn't on the same level with Assante Samuel or even Ellis Hobbs.
Safety - Advantage Colts. Bob Sanders is pound for pound the best defensive player in football. When he isn't injured. So this could change quickly, especially if Rodney Harrison comes back strong. Which he obviously will, cos he's been taking his "vitamins" 😀 .
To me they're two evenly-matched teams. The Colts have had tougher competition but have still trashed two of their four opponents. The Patriots* have played garbage teams and have treated them as such.
Once again, it's the Colts and Pats* at the top of the AFC. This time they'll be battling to see who gets to beat the Cowboys in the Super Bowl.

What is the asterisk for? The Pats are under more scrutiny this season than at any other time. All data pertaining to the Week 1 Spygate has been turned over. It's unfortunate you can't seem to see that they are legitimately beating the piss out of everyone they face.
The asterisk is mainly to piss off Patriots* fans. I have no idea if the wins are legit. They probably are. But the organization is crooked, and the fans are blindly loyal. Thus, you get the *!
Despite the (intentioned) good-natured jabs, objectively the Patriots* are a very strong team. In all honesty they look better than any past Pats* team in recent history. Other than the asterisks, what do you think of my evaluation? Keep in mind I'm a Colts fan and it's hard to completely take off the blue glasses.

I'm not a Pats fan (Titans!) but I've read a lot of genuine Brady hate in here. How can anyone dislike the guy? What has he ever done other than completely own your team?
The scary thing about Brady is that only now are we seeing just how good he is with a great receiver. Peyton was always considered #1 but he had major offensive weapons around him. Brady always had no name receivers. It's amazing what some good players can do to make you look great.

I feel the same way. If there were ever a team set to run the table this could be the first one (generationally speaking) and I'm looking forward to seeing how it unfolds.

I disagree but that's both our opinions. Mind you I like all three teams mentioned here and would likely root for them in any other matchup. However my heart is with the Cowboys and they have shown that they will be quite a force to reckon with.

I'd disagree that the organization is crooked, but that's a well-traveled road we shouldn't go down. Let's talk football instead.
Honestly, I'd say right now the Colts aren't getting the respect they deserve. They are the defending champions. They have the best QB in the NFL at the helm. They have a dynamic receiving tandem. They have a good running back. The defense is playing pretty well.
On top of all that they beat the Pats at their own game in the AFC Championship game. Even though the Pats defense was very depleted at the end of the game, it isn't an excuse. The Colts beat the Pats when it mattered. They went on to win the SB.
How the hell are they not the #1 team?!
I don't give a crap that the Pats beat their four opponents by 20+ pts each week. None of that matters. What matters is winning. What matters is beating good teams when it is important.
The Patriots' offense looks as good as it has ever been. Tom Brady with Moss, Stallworth, Welker, and the TEs must make anybody nervous to face them. The defense has been alright, but should get a shot in the arm when Seymour and Harrison return. Right now, I think the Pats can shoot it out with the Colts. By the time the two teams face, I hope the defense can smother Peyton.
Until the Patriots beat the Colts, I'd rank 'em Colts (1), Pats (2), Steelers (3). That being said, the Colts / Pats matchup this season will be amazing - I'm looking forward to it 🙂
