the Chuck arc is pure torture. It's consuming and wasting an awful lot of screen time with no payoff in sight.

I get the feeling that Chuck is sort of a morality anchor for Jimmy. I wonder if he will be committed or possibly die/be killed at the end of this season allowing the unscrupulous Saul to emerge next season.

The last episode very clearly tied Chuck's wellness to Jimmy's actions.

I certainly think he must die, be committed or something similarly final at some point, because I can't imagine Jimmy making the transition to Saul while he is still around.

Yup that was good. I like how he had an unloaded gun on him and snuck a smaller one stuffed in the crease of the car seat. And how Saul refuses to spill the coffee on the detective but does a perfect job right when they are leaving the room, it was natural lol.

Last night's episode was quite good...

I'd happily watch a Mike show set in Philly I'm pretty sure.

I ain't complaining, but last night was The Mike Show with guest appearance by Jimmy McGill. Any idiots still think that Mike was just a pointless cameo? You have no imagination if you thought that for even a second.

Nobody said Mike was a pointless cameo. Everyone knew Mike was going to have some larger part than being a parking lot attendant, because we know where his story goes (and ends).

Tuco, on the other hand, is a pointless cameo. Saul could have connected with Nacho in any other way. I mean, the guy deals with idiot criminals all the time.

The shot-for-shot Columbian Tele-Novela remake? Yep. I like how they were too cheap to have the gun fire through the car trunk like it did in the US version.

I was wondering how they could afford to do that, but looking at the trailer again it looks pretty low budget.

Jesse's girlfriend is way hotter in the Colombian version. :awe:

Except that he is getting older while his character is going back in time and is supposed to be younger and younger. Time is a bitch. :D

Last night's episode was really really good. I liked it.

Plenty said it. I took notice because it was so short-sighted and yet these wanna be critics thought they had a point.

I liked it but they could have tightened it up a bit. I don't think this episode needed the extra 15 minutes.

One of the best things about Breaking Bad was it's pacing, and I thought that was lacking here a bit. Some of the scenes just dragged on for too long, like the awkward wait during the trial.

Also I hope they don't just keep throwing in random references to Breaking Bad. It's like the show is winking at you and saying "hey remember this from the other show" -- which will get old fast.

I really didn't like the end of the episode. It was blatent pandering by having a very familiar character from Breaking Bad giving us a surprise appearance at the end. Mike Ehrmantraut was enough. I'd rather have the show try hard to stand on its own two feet rather than have Breaking Bad constantly trying to prop it up.

See, I thought it should have been the other way around. Using Mike in such a menial role seemed gratuitous. But I liked the ending. We knew going in what the first season was going to be. Where Breaking Bad turned Walter into Heisenberg BCS is going to turn loser Jimmy into criminal lawyer mastermind Saul. There had to be a eureka moment somewhere, the point that pushes Jimmy over to the dark side. Now we know what it is. He's going to weasel out of it, see the money on that side of things and that will change his career path.

I enjoyed the show, but did they REALLY have to whore out not one but TWO Breaking Bad characters in the pilot?

Mike was already cringy. But when I saw Tuco, I had to roll my eyes. I mean is the town made of up 20 people?

I liked the first two EPs well enough. I hope they do more than just keep giving us BB cameos. I think the concept is strong enough without having to lean so much on BB.

So far loving the show. Have to say I'm in mild agreement with the abundance of BB references. I mean, we've already run into Tuco and Mike in just the first two episodes. It's not at the point where I find it distracting, but hopefully it doesn't try to be Breaking Bad 2.0. Saul was worthy of a spin-off... so let's do that thing ;)
