omgz are you serious lol??? someone got shot in teh c1ty I did'nt think that happened11!!

Isn't your sarcasm proving his point that this DOES happen and so he has a legitimate reason to carry?

You haven't read any of my posts in this thread, have you

no. I didn't even read mine before I posted.

I guess I just can't gel that you recognize people get shot on a consistent basis and that you could carry a handgun to try and protect yourself but yet that's not enough risk for you to carry.

I can understand you saying oh it doesn't happen often at all.

Anyhow, I'm bringin my 9 to seattle, foo.

1) People getting shot in the city does not translate to you being in grave danger of being shot when you're in the city. Philly, which is well regarded as not a very nice city has what...500 murders a year? Many - no. not all - of those murders are drug or gang related. So take the remainder into the 1.5 million people they have in the city, it doesn't translate to a very high risk at all.

2) You're basically ignoring the part where having a gun on you ain't gonna help you in most city street violence. A mugger pops out of a dark alley from behind you and puts a gun to your head - your gun won't help you. A gang of 10 high school kids converges on you, throws you to the ground, surrounds you - likely at least 1 if not more of them have guns pointed at you - your gun won't help you. You fall asleep on the subway and some guy starts hitting you over the head with a hammer - your gun won't help you.

3) The hippy-infested streets of Seattle are the last place on earth that you'd need a gun.

Hippie infestation is precisely the reason I have guns.
