Say you want to stash something in your war chest for the ZA, budget ~$50. We all know guns have limited usefulness vs zombies, so what type of bladed or blunt weapon would you get to supplement your arsenal?

ex) Something like this is is only $30 shipped

Helium balloon kit, one large trash bag, and tape, all doable for $50. Because who really wants to try to live through the end of the world?

Whats with all these weapons that require you to

a) Get up close and personal
b) Cause large amounts of bleeding and airborne blood

Assuming zombies are extremely sound sensitive, guns are definitely out.

I would say a staff weapon would probably your best best. Fully killing zombies is a massive waste of time and effort, you're better off disabling them/pushing them away from a distance.

How much is that one survival shovel that has a serrated edge and can function as a hammer and a bunch of other things?

I'd say an aluminum pole with a sharpened shovel head on one end and maybe a spike on the other would be ideal. Good reach and if you get surrounded you can just start spinning/swinging it like crazy. The shovel would let you dig small holes or trenches which would trip them up (and be a pain for normal people too). Plus you could use it to prop doors shut. Get two of them and make some sort of vice grip latches and you'd have a ladder too.

Staff weapons would be great for when you are in open terrain, but chances are you are going to be engaging zombies in tight quarters inside buildings as you are looting and seeking shelter. Then staff weapon will be a hindrance.

In some instances but it would give you a tool to prop doors closed so that you don't even need to fight them at all. It's not like all buildings are that tightly condensed and a long reaching weapon would be good for going into doors where you can't see, you can shove it in and swing it around some to see if there's anything in the immediate area around the door before going in.

Plus it'd give you a good lever to move/topple other things.

If you're constantly fighting zombies up close you're going to lose, simple as that. And if there's a bunch of zombies in close quarters you shouldn't even be going in there to begin with. A long weapon would let you pick them off through small confines too (think small glass window you could shove it through and you could get more than just the ones immediately next to the door).

Will be googling videos of those being used during bear attacks.

I don't think he has any of those but he has videos of him being hit by pickups by friends and I think being lit on fire and a bunch of other stuff. He tried to sell some of his designs to the military for dealing with IEDs and stuff.

A suppressor for my Winchester lever action rifle.

My post apocalypse gun would be the Marlin 1895 STP.

I don't care if its practical, it would be cool. Add a aluminum baseball bat and a something like the Becker BK7, and an Alice Pack ala DayZ would complete the look. haha..total zombie killer poser, but I'd have a day or two of feeling cool before I die a horrible death.

+5 Katana of Zombie Slaying.

good katana costs a ton more than 50 as well.

Two harbour freight 7 dollar machetes with tape over the hand guard. I work out with a pair occasionally and they have terrible controll.

A pike would be the first thing I used to a pair of machetes for CQZ

Hell two butcher knives from the kitchen or two bread knives used backwards would work but at that point the zombies will be too close.

Really depends on what type of zombie infection we get. if they get super strength even for a little while were fucked.
