Yes, those make crunches significantly more difficult.Originally posted by: Rudee
I've been bodybuilding over 17 years, and have experimented with every ab exercise known to man. I can say with certainty that one of the best exercises for developing abdominals is crunches over a Swiss Ball. When performed properly, no exercise comes close. I convinced my local gym to purchase a few of them about 7 years ago, and I'm certainly glad they did.

What is crunch? How you do that?

You can do every kind of ab exercise and spend thousands on ab machines but nothing is any better than the crunch.
BTW, if you think you are going to show that 6 pack without trimming the body fat substantially, think again.

I'd say situps and crunches. Make sure you do situps to the side too - it'll give you an all around better muscular workout.

The biggest benefit is the stretch you get via the Swiss Ball. I use a Superslow technique in which I do only 2 sets of 4-5 reps. The key is each set lasts 80 to 100 seconds long. (10 seconds positive, 10 seconds negative). Trust me, it's not easy, but holy crap does it give results. Give it a try.
