Best way to keep a dog from digging under fence?

Best option as you have mentioned would be to bury some fencing a 12-16 inches below the current fence. Or possible use landscaping lumber logs and bury those.

Another option would be to attach the dog to a runner that ran along the fence so it couldn't get close enough to fence.

If the dog or the fence are gone then the dog CANT dig under the fence. Stop crying.

Anyway, as others have said, the electric fence is the best solution. They learn pretty fast.

If a strange dog were in my yard destroying my property and would not leave then I would kill it.

If it runs off when confronted though I would probably call animal control.
