I need to get a paper notorized to get my girlfriend on my insurance at work. What's the best/cheapest way to get it done locally? Any tips? Thanks...

Any local bank branch. Call ahead to make sure the notary is on-site.

Look in the phone book under "notary public"?

Hell, I've even seen one operating out of a kiosk in a mall. They're not hard to find at all. You could also try looking in the vicinity of any local courts.

Many companies also have a notary or two on staff usually in HR or departments that handle property/leases.

Ask a secretary in your company, they usually know.

And I'm not sure there's any other way to get something notarized other than locally.

I'm pretty sure you could charter a private jet and fly cross-country to get something notarized.

The cheapest way to get an item notarized is to know someone who is a certified notary.

However, most states prohibit family members from notarizing documents, so you cannot be directly related.

My local bank, credit union and AAA offices notarize for free assuming you're a customer.

Did so, there are two, but my girlfriend is miles and miles away. I don't know them well enough to ask them to do it improperly.

Also, called my bank and they said they have someone there. Calling the specific branch to confirm that they will be there.

Thanks.
