With only 128 of storage, I'm not sure I would buy that even if it is an SDD as Windows 10 with a few large applications will eat that up quick.
I have about 6 win 10 (now linux) boxes, all with 128 gig ssd's like Larrys, they do just fine, unless you have a lot of apps. Mine just do boinc and F@H

"HDD added to suit". Not all gamers want an additional HDD, they may already have a big one on their current PC with all of their Steam library, and may want to just transfer it over.

And if I offer the usual 1TB HDD in the base config, some people want a bigger one, like 2-4TB.

Edit: Anyways, enough about selling the PCs, what about the config, does it make sense to do this?

I've got a couple of friends that might be able to use these PCs too. Something to consider (giving them away. Course then my upgrade won't be "free - as in beer").
With these specs the SSD should be at least ~256GB if not ~512GB or bigger.

Well there is always Fuzedrive to consider also.

P.S. Something to think about ---> 128GB SSD plus HDD plus $20 Fuzedrive basic or 240/256GB SSD plus HDD (with no fuzedrive)?

For that 128 would be fine, but about data storage?

What do you want to get into? Its the same as any other chip, which has been pretty much the same since... CPU slots went away. Ryzens even still have pins right?

Virtual Larry,

For the Ryzen APUs I'll bet most people will want something with a SFF board.

Speaking of that what happened to X300 and B300?

Make sense. Although I would go with MicroATX with a suitable MiniTower case.

I would at least need room for 2 2.5" drives since I have two of them.

I would use a 2 x 2.5" in 3.5" adapter like this one:

Looking at the Newegg reviews for that Inwin BK623 it does well, but I wonder if there is any functional difference when using AMD?

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA0ZX1VZ8143

(Design is the Intel Mt. Jade reference platform)

EDIT: PIctures from this review with Intel CPU vs. older AMD CPU....

EDIT2: The new partition plate has some adjust-ability built-in:

.....but it looks like the heatsink still has to be circular within a certain diameter.

Larry, I say you get into single board computers instead. Asus tinkerboard, Rock64, Latte Panda, UDOO x86 etc..

I was thinking, tentatively, to drop a pair of 2400G APUs into the AB350M Pro4 boards (got two rigs identical, and a third with a 1600 in it, in a different case).

Wait until you see some reviews/user experience on how fast people can run their RAM with these chips. How badly do you need performance from the iGPU?

I want 4K UHD Windows desktop / 4K YouTube working as well as possible. Don't really want to OC things, because that can just make things flaky... if not right away, then months down the line.

Faster RAM would be a plus, though, overall.

Probably would do a slight bit of mining on the APUs too, just to see if they can do it, might not be even worth it. (It's barely worth it to mine with my dGPUs right now.)

While I am going to buy one, it won't be until after the bios has settled out and you can get a motherboard you don't need to reflash. A couple months I'm thinking.

I doubt it'll be worth it to mine with Raven Ridge, but I could be wrong. In any case, I do not think you'll want/need any kind of fast RAM if all you're doing is 4K desktop/YouTube. If you plan on gaming with it, then that's another matter altogether.

Larry, seeing how much success you've had with getting into Ryzen APUs makes me want to take the jump, but alas, I am too cheap, still married to windows 7 (complicated adobe suite issue), and my i3-530 is still chugging along with nary a problem.
