Hey you damn kids stop playing outside and go watch some damn TV!

You're like a reverse curmudgeon.

After readin gyour post ... I really feel for you. the best way IMHO to deal with this is to go for a walk down to the management office and tell them that you will be moving out. When they ask why tell them. They might consider doing something when it starts hitting them in the pocketbook.

Best way to get away from that is make enough money that you price the riff raff out of your neighborhood or apartment.
Wake you up at 10am? Geez...
Yeah, damn, I havne't slept that late in a decade. 8:00 am is obscenely late for me even on a weekend. Get up and bike ride or something, foo!

move?

bunch of unconfrontational pussies!

everyones reply to issues is usually something like this...

B/c the OP should tell those kids not to play basketball at 10am?

no, something like 'moving' is not practical, confronting the kids about it is more practical.

given the situation, it also depends how long its been going on, how long his lease is, ETC.

complaining about kids playing outside at 10am is practical?

there is NOTHING in the lease that is going to help him. he wants out? ask the landlord (who will say no) but if he bugs them enough they may let him out.

Nobody has suggested calling the cops to complain yet? They just might take your side against your neighbors, assuming that you're a white guy anyway.

great idea. and while he is waiting for the cops to come (they wont) for the kids playing outside he can think what a retarded idea that is.

It sounds like ultimatebob is saying you should tell the police it's black kids playing as well.

Yep... it wouldn't hurt to play the race card on this one. I'm assuming that the OP has already tried resolving this in a civil manner, so now it's time to start playing dirty. It's funny how some kids playing basketball can be mistaken for ghetto thugs dealing crack when you just woke up and you're feeling groggy...

Stick a lower case t on their front porch while they're sleeping and light it on fire.

they actually don't sound rude, just noisy & loud.

rude would be keying your car, etc.

if you let them know that it bugs you, and they decide they don't like
you, it could get worse.

there are ways to make them like you & care about whether they're
inconveniencing you. but it may be in the same probability-category
as Mid-East Peace. it would also take a lot of time.

i was just talking with another engineer about ways to deal with
noise (e.g. Electro-magnetic Pulse on building AC to slow down an
out-of-control stereo system.)

this is a very tough call. i was in a serious situation noise-wise
once & i moved.

my lesson learned - you can't conclude that an apartment is
quiet just because it's quiet when you look at it.

the apartment i have now, i actually slept in the street a night
to see how noisy it was before i moved in.

last resort - invite them to create a reality TV show with you
about the situation ?

WTF? You think keying a car is considered rude? That's down right dispicable and illegal.

Rude would be playing loud music while you're trying to sleep.
Rude would be leaving trash outside and making a mess.
Rude would be taking your parking spot each time.

But keying a car is way beyond rude.
