If you're already a T-mobile customer, T-mobile @Home works really well for us and it's only an additional $10 on your monthly T-mobile bill.

Do what I did; run XP in a VM. Using VirtualBox running headless, I used an init script to start it as a service and just RDP in whenever I need to fiddle with it. Works decent for my Skype adapter.
