Final Fantasy 1
Wolfenstein 3D
Warcraft 1
Xcom 1
Civ II

The classics of their genres. Technically Xcom and Civ are both turn based, Civ is deemed in the genre of "God" game, lest Icons leds me to believe that. I do not equate the games in a similiar manner as well.

PC = Half Life

Console = Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time

Arcade = Street Fighter 2/Street Fighter 2 Championship Edition

Overall WinnAh = Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

i surprise myself choosing that over Half Life as i love Half Life to bits, but for some reason LOZ:eek:OT just has that something extra to bring you into its world.

Final Fantasy VII is probably my favorite video game of all time, for emotional reasons... it was the first game I played seriously, and made something of an impact on me while I was growing up. I think Final Fantasy Tactics surpasses it in gameplay quality if not in narrative and plot, though.

Super Mario Land (BEST 2D Platform PRE-PLAYSTATION)
Street Fighter Series (Alpha and Turbo particularly)
Chrono Trigger (BEST RPG OF ALL TIME)
FF VII (GENRE REVOLUTIONIZING RPG)
Castlevania: SotN (BEST MODERN 2D Platform)
Metal Gear Series (no words)

*edit: after i submitted i realized there are so many more to add
Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past
Super Mario Bros. 3
StarCraft/WarCraft Series
Starfox 64
Xenogears

-and there are MANY more...but each game I listed changed its genre in one form or another...(meaning others often emulated, but never duplicated)

Tetris, Legend of Zelda (original), Super Mario Bros.,

I'd possibly add Legend of Zelda: the Windwaker on there as well, but I may need some time to confirm that decision:)

Just joking.

Civilization is probably the best series ever. No game in that has ever disapointed me.

New Civ is coming out beginning next year, I think.

Zelda: Link to the Past
ChronoTrigger (also enjoyed Secret of Mana & FF series on SNES)
KOTOR 1
Civ 2/Alpha Centauri
Brothers in Arms (omg what an AWESOME ww2 game)
Deus Ex

Although not one of the 'best' games, I spent a lot of my younger years on Mechwarrior 2...that was wicked fun for a little 7ish yr old.

In my eyes, it's Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries without a doubt. I have poured more hours into that game than any other. It's really too bad that the whole Mechwarrior 2 series wont run in 2k/xp :(

I'd say the best technically-done game I've played is Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox although HL2 is astounding also. However for most the fun and playtime, Quake 1 + mods I'd say.

2 Heavy pulse lasers, and the rest all machine guns owned everything in that game.

Pulse at range, run into MG range. Change your weapon group, and unload the most ridiculous damage in the game with no heat. I still remember tearing up an Atlas in some 60 ton mech loaded out with MGs.

I gotta go with:
HL 1/2
Call of Duty
Dues Ex
FF VII
Doom 1/2
Resident Evil 1 & 2
Need for Speed Underground

I'm sure there are plenty more....

Edit: Quake 1 was awesome too
