SLI is a waste of money, get Corsair Value Select, get a NEC burner and I would get the X800XL since it performs similair to the 6800GT yet is $100 cheaper.

You put "XFX Geforce 6800GT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 " and you said you wanna get X800XL? oO

Get OCZ Gold VX 2x512MB

hmm well AMD CPUs are a waste if you aren't overclocking them. But well...
Any good brand RAM is fine for non-overclocking purposes.
Otherwise get a DFi nForce4 Ultra motherboard and OCZ Gold VX Ram

Agree, might look for some dual channel memory, nice performance boost. And as mobo i would take something like the asus a8v. You might look for some Gainward 6800gt. One version has higher clocks and good cooling. Not bad in overclocking and not that expensive as other 6800's

-CMV 17" flat pannal monitor

Make sure this is has 12ms or lower response time or you will see ghosting in games....

-Powmax 580Watt PSU

Get rid of this powersupply.

Get an OCZ 520 Powestream....

That is my choice, also look at Enermax and Seasonic.
-XFX Geforce 6800GT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3

XFX sucks.

Go with an EVGA, BFG, or Leadtek card...

Whichever you can find cheapest which is EVGA most of the time...

There is nothing wrong with the Chaintech. It is a very good mobo for a very good price. If you need firewire get an Epox NF4 Ultra.

ATI sux imo and would rather spend the extra on the nvidia 6800GT but that's me. Plus I'm all about the quake series which is OpenGL and Nvidia rapes ATI in that category. There are quite a few OPENGL games coming out that are highly anticipated like Quake 4 and Prey that use the Doom 3 engine. So if you're the least bit interested in those games like I am I'd stick to nvidia.

The 6800GT is definitely not worth over $100 more over the X800XL.
