The Korean BBQ I was used to in Phoenix, brought out little side dishes and what not that were included in the price of the meal. It wasn't nearly as expensive as Parks, but hey I'd KILL to get some Korean food where I am now.

I saw your post BEFORE you post the picture asshole, so I was looking at their website! :p

Absolutely the offer is serious! I don't fuck around when it comes to good food and friends! ;) Besides, I'm really only used to Bulgogi and Cucumber Kimchi, so if you could expand my Korean Food Horizons, I'd be much obliged!

Oh I am 29, forgot to answer that question earlier lol.

PM your info!

No, and that's exactly what I'm saying. For $150 you and another person could buy all the wagyu you want, all the alcohol you want, shrimp, sides, etc.

You go to Maestro's with $150 and you'll end up with what? 2 steaks and some water, maybe a coffee and dessert to split? lol

Does not even compare to Mastro's. And I was able to walk away from Mastro's with 2 steaks, glass of wine, lobster mashed potatoes, asparagus side for about $180 with a free chocolate cake. Could not even finish the steaks and had to take some of it home and it still tasted amazing the next day.

LOL I'm not a k-town master by any means but I know a few things.

to each his own. i love me a good steak but push comes to shove, I'll take kbbq over american steaks.

And btw, if you only had $150 you would end up with what? 2 steaks 1 glass of wine and maybe a free chocolate cake, more or less what my post said.

@Park's that same $150 will get you something like 4 meats + 2 "real" sides + assorted ban chan + 2 bottles soju and 4 large hites. (ok maybe not that much alcohol but you get the point)

lol no, Park's has blown up so they have a lot of english on the menu. You know the english prices are right next to the korean ones haha. Prices are $20-30 for meats, I think $40-60 for wagyu (although I could be wrong).

Sides are ~$10, side entrees $20-30

I usually spend 30pp eating casually, 50pp eating hard/drinking hard. Corkage is $25/bottle if wine is your thing. Otherwise alcohol is surprisingly cheap...

Thanks for the offer. If you're serious we can do an ATOT meetup and I'll bring some wine or pre-dinner "food enhancement" activities. I love Park's, what can I say =P

Korean BBQ must be very different in LA. Because in that menu, Gal Bi is $36 per serving. But no one eats one serving unless you're a small girl. I usually eat minimum 2 servings. Most of the time 3 servings. So that's $100 per person just for the meat. Everywhere I've eaten, nice Korean BBQ is more expensive than nice American steakhouse. Same for sushi.

Well to be fair, I am just paying for his meal at Mastro's the other nights he's on his own. But truth be told he's kind of a tight ass so I figure if I take him to somewhere other than Olive Garden or Applebees, he may get to see what real food tastes like lol.

Waggy don't feel too bad man, I'm having to drive almost 4 hours each way, so it's not exactly close for me lol.

Although, I did get an email today from FlyerTalk and one of the articles they listed, talked about "Dining Runs" where people would fly to somewhere just for a meal or two then fly back. To be honest, now that I make a somewhat decent amount of money, I may start doing this just for the hell of it!

Park's BBQ short rib. This is 1 order. I've eaten here 10+ times and my rule for ordering meats here is (# of persons - 1); there has NEVER been a shortage of food using this strategy.

So it's the same. Yeah, you guys don't eat lot of meat. Some of the friends I go with will eat 4-5 servings of Gal Bi themselves when hungry. It's $24 per serving in Atlanta at most restaurants.

As for Park's, I'm not impressed looking at the pictures on that blog. The meats look good but the rest don't. It looks like that place uses gas grill. I try not to eat at Korean BBQ that use gas. Better places will use hardwood. And ban chan in the pictures look like something you get at cheap Tofu houses rather than nice BBQ place.

Cost is why I usually do AYCE when I do Korean BBQ. $30 a person and it doesn't stop coming.. but its not wagyu/prime.

if you're poor or a cheapskate like me, there's lots of decent $20-30 AYCE korean bbq options too.

1. I have never ever seen anyone eat that much galbi, stick to AYCE or something.
2. The meats are top tier and so are the ban chan. That is why someone goes to Park's. It's a gas grill with hardwood charcoal on top. You can judge it on pics if you want, but what you're saying does not match the reality of the situation. If you ask various food websites where to go for KBBQ in LA, Park's name will consistently come up.

Been to Maestro's and it's pretty damn good. Heard good things about Cut but haven't tried it yet. Was not too sure about it since I thought it might be one of those places trying to get by on their name more so than the quality of the meal.

Also, you really can't compare it to kbbq. Flavors and what not are entirely different.

Tons of great kbbq places in LA. There are a lot of places that do $10 ayce kbbq that has just the basic selections of meats (which is what most people order mainly) which is great. You can stuff yourself or you can eat moderately without feeling like your didn't eat your worth. Love it.

in downtown/k-town there's bud namu, castle, and a few other $9.99 options i forget. no pricier meat like galbi though.

There are amazing $20 AYCE Korean BBQ but I'd stray away from anything under that.

Ugh I hate you guys. Im in Italy and would totally be down to join if I was there.

Gen is hands down the best AYCE Korean BBQ I've had and I've been to many.

It's a drive from LA though but you get good cuts for $20.
