The book for blade runner was 1000000x better than the movie.

My fav sci-fi movie is The Day the Earth Stood Still. Its awesome still today.

My ever-aging memory may be fading, but if memory serves was it not:

"There's no need to mince words. In space, all warriors are cold warriors."?

"My God, it's full of stars..."

Most overrated movie ever.

no that would be citizen kane
at least 2001 had good music.....ok at most it had good music, but even citizen kane didnt have that, AND it was boring, AND it was in black and white

2001 Space Odyssey OST == :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

most boring movie ever.

"The spice extends life. The spice expands conciousness. The spice is vital to space travel."

Better book, but still a good movie.

I need to watch 2001... Not including that, my bests are 1) Blade Runner and 2) The Empire Strikes Back (though as others have said, it's more of a fantasy set in space)

Well, I, personally, would go with Tron, or perhaps Forbidden Planet...

Forbidden Planet may or may not be the best, but at least it's true Sci-Fi, unlike Star Wars. It's crap like Star Wars that gives Sci-Fi a bad name!
