what revenge? it's about overcoming his own obstacles through hope and persistence.

I am not sure I would call it strictly a revenge movie but it definitely has elements of it. He stole the warden's money, who eventually killed himself, and got the head guard thrown in jail.

Would you consider Real Genius to be a revenge movie? It definitely has elements of it in the plot.

Holy damn, watching 'Faster' right now, and it's a pretty damned good visceral revenge flick.

Basically the short of it is that the lead guy was in a bank robbery where he was the driver, after which him and his brother's crew were all set up and killed other than the protaganist, whom then serves 10 years hard time while waiting for his chance. As soon as the prison door is open, it's boom boom boom with a .45 revolver and a fast classic SS. Nice.

It doesn't pretend to be a brilliant film, but it's a perfect throwaway action ride.

I guess "Apocalypto" wasn't a chase movie even though he was being chased because he was actually running to save his wife.

I guess "Road to Perdition" wasn't a revenge flick because he died and was actually killing to protect his son.

I guess "Gladiator" wasn't really an action movie because it was also an epic with historical elements.
