not sure if you know this but one of the two biggest rap battle organizations in the world, KOTD (based out of Toronto Canada) is predominately a white league. White battle rappers are just as novel as black baseball players. The guy in this video sucks compared to some of the canadian vets.

Obviously he's not polished but that's the point, it's obvious he didn't prepare and was just spitting off the top of the dome.
BTW, "canadian vets" from KOTD can't compare to top US titans like Dizaster or DNA. Go watch their battle on KOTD, or Diz killing rap icon Canibus's career a month ago.

Dude, Cannabis killed himself...any rapper who didn't coke would have beat him (I was at the event, the notebook thing = automatic loss).
Diz is probably the best in the game but on average, Canada has a LOT of talent (mainly because KOTD is so well run). URL has some amazing performs as well.
Pat Stay, AR Cane, Hollohan, Bender, Loe Pesci, Osa, and Kid Twist have AMAZING pen games (just to name a few). I really think Canada's Top Tier compares very well with US Top Tier (I may be a bit biased here because I'm not very fond of the URL over the top gun lines...I mean like every other line is a gun line...it just gets old).
Hollohan v. Dizaster would be the best battle of all time...especially after Hollohan called Dizaster out for biting his style when Hollohan was battling Cortez (also an instant classic btw).
EDIT 1: Also, as far as the video in the OP, what makes you think it was off the top? Basically, every line he spit could be used in any other battle...i.e. it was written.
EDIT 2: I predict Diz kills PoRich at world domination 3 and takes the chain, he beats the Grand Prix winner to defend the chain, and that sets up Diz v. Hollohan once and for all.

Battling means next to nothing any more, there was a time when a dude like Diz wouldn't have gotten much respect at all. Now people are hailing him the greatest ever? lol KOTD SUUUUCKS, URL mostly sucks, fuck Grind Time. 99% battle scene need to just stop imho. Quality > quantity, and the quality's right now's terrible. The main problem is "rappers" who technically can write but sound horrible when they're spitting. Most of them need to stick to text battles on the internet where their lack of being able to actually rap doesn't shine thru. Battles any more are also hard to listen to because of the dick riding crowd. I swear to god any battle that takes place in LA with Diz, the entire audience is going ape shit after every one of his lines. It gets fucking old fast. Same thing with east coast crowds and dudes like T-Rex or Head Ice.

Can you point out where exactly I said white Canadians are the best battle rappers? The point I was making is that there are plenty of white battle rappers...it's not "an exception to the rule" or anything like that. IMO, Top Tier KOTD rappers (who are predominately white), compares very well with US Top Tier. Also, Dizaster is the best in the game right now IMO and he's Lebanese. The bigger picture is race is pretty much irrelevant is battle rap.

BTW, Head Ice v. Pat Stay is going to be a dope battle at WD3 (of course Canada will dick ride Pat but US had a great showing at WD2).

Diz has a weak flow, yells too much and imho his gimmicky ass run on sentence every line thing gets old real fast. I also hate how dudes like him pile on the multi's for the sake of just making more words rhyme. Rex has a decent flow but his gun talk's pretty lame and he's one of the least intimidating dudes ever. Arsenal has a good flow & voice, and can be really nice at times. But he has a lot of wtf lines, he smashed in his battle against Conceited. But he's not consistent. Illmac's not bad at all, but there's not many Illmac's in the scene. Calicoe's cool but I get bored of his gun shit. Head Ice Vs Pat Stay will be wack, Head Ice is one of the most wtf overrated dudes ever, and something tells me Pat won't be his usual acting like he wants to fight self he was when Marv Won called him out. Pat's the epitome of fake and garbage. And honestly after he bitched out in the Arsenal battle I don't even know why KOTD lets him battle. I will watch because I hope Head Ice punks his ass. I might not like Ice as a rapper, but he's a pretty fucking scary dude and in the past has knocked out dudes after battles so that should be fun.
My problem with most battlers now a days is they don't have a good flow. And use way too much multi's with no purpose than making the idiots in the crowd go "ohhh shit!" I don't care how nice your lyrics are if you don't know how to rap well. Swave Sevah can actually rap, Marv Won can actually rap, what Diz does imho is yell and talk really fast. Maybe a lot of battle fans haven't been listening to rap for that long so they don't know any better. I've been into rap since the mid 80's. Big Daddy Kane in 1987 had a better flow than anyone battling today. Also imho a lot of the dudes lack presence, battling's more than reciting words, or going off the top if you rock like that. The problem is there are so many battlers now you only have to be half decent for people to really think you're this legend. The Diz Vs DNA battle's a perfect example of people having orgasms over something that was pretty damn weak. Yeah both had a few nice lines, but shit it was so much garbage in between and so long I don't know how anyone could have watched it more than once.
I liked Fight Klub, not because the rappers were necessarily better, but because if you stumble once the battle was over. They should do this in KOTD/GT/URL/Smack but I guess if they did none of the battles would finish on their own because 98% of the rappers suck. I also think giving a guy extra props just because he goes off the dome is lame, if you suck you suck. Dude shouldn't get credit for off the dome unless it's worth listening too.

I don' think Pat is fake...I also like is flow and pen game. Good mix of bars and jokes. As far as the Mar One situation, I think it was drunk Patty acting like drunk Patty and that's all there was to it...it was lame and unprofessional but not nearly as bad as one of Ars' dudes grabbing a dot mob member by the neck in the T-Rex battle (also, Ars knocked someone out literally 5 feet in front of me at Vendetta).
As for the Ars v. Pat battle, let me just say this: the terms of the battle were agreed upon in advance and Ars tried to change it up...simple as that. Ars pulls a lot of shit like that during battles (for example, at Vendetta, he refused to hit the stage before he got paid up front, causing the whole thing to run long and the club personnel literally shoving people out of the venue while both illmac and ars hadn't spit their third yet).
As a frame of reference, I was born in 1984 so although I've heard of and listened to Big Daddy Kane and the likes, I can't say he was much of an influence per se. The one thing I think that leagues should change is this unlimited time BS. The DNA v. Diz video is literally over an hour long...I mean it's likes throwing as much shit against the wall and seeing what sticks. I think it'll definitely help the quality of the bars if the rapper were limited to 2 minute round (and in no event, more than 3 minutes).
Jin quit rapping after scheduling a battle with Dizaster and bailing on the battle. Reason? To find God. True story.
He did make a few albums though.
actually, most every contract in a rap battle specifically forbids touching the opponent in a physically threatening matter...so if they don't keep it PG, they don't get paid.
