I was wondering, ive tried the twinlab whey stuff, and it has 14grams ofr whey, and 3 carbs....

tuna has 21grams of protein and o carbs for albacire

is it better to just go with the tuna?

How much protein should I try to get? and also what is a good protein shake?

thanks

Well, from what I've heard, a person needs atleast 60 grams of protein a day just to maintain your muscles or some shiz. So I guess more than that if you're building. As far as the whey to tuna thing, I'd use both, whey for a drink and a nice tuna sandwhich.

no offence but i think this stuff is ridiculous. just eat extra beef n eggs and youll be fine, no need to waste money on this crap.

i use both, tuna have omega 3 acid which is very helpful for recovery. Protein shake will provide you with lots of protein at a very low cost. a person need about 1- 1.5gram of protein per lb of body weight.

1 gram per pound is alot... but thats cool.. you mean per day right? as far as the protein shakes being crap... well, they are a very efficient way to get extra protein, without the extra fat and cholesterol of red meats and egs... plus they taste good, its a healthy snack

So what are your favorite brands? how many grams should I be looking for in a shake?

There's this one really cut / big korean singer by the name of Yoo Seung Jun.

I heard all he does is eat Egg / Potatos mixed and he goes to the gym.

Egg for protein, potato for carb.
Yea, and don't kill yourself with those protein shakes. Eat something funner like meat and chicken.

eggs, chicken and meat will also provide good protein to your body.
as for protein powder, i prefer EAS brand, the vanilla flavor .. taste good when you make a smoothies.

as far as the whole food advice goes

I do eat a good diet that includes meats, I just want a good protein shake for after workouts

I had a friend who tried to make a tuna fish banana apple celery and chocolate ice cream shake. Unfortunately his family has a house rule: if you make it, you have to eat it. Sucked to be him.

I am taking Natures Best Isopure. 50 grams of whey per serving.

Also taking Champion Nutrition Ultramet MRP. around 40 grams of protein and forgot the amount og carbs.

ALso alittle bit of tuna on the side 😉.

www.dpsnutrition.com has the best prices on the net.

I take optimum nutrition's 100% whey when i am low on funds... its like 25 bucks for 5 lbs!

Designer protein is pretty good tasting and cheap too.

you should try the whey protein called "American Whey". the stuff tastes really good and has a whopping 29 grams of protein and only 200 calories when mixed w/ a cup of skim milk. I love the stuff. Drink it every day. by the way, chocolate is my favorite by far

1 gm/lb is the minimum you should be getting a day - it's not anywhere near a lot. Oh, and it's more important to refuel your glycogen stores after a workout more than your protein (you need both but you should get a 3:1 ratio) but you were "recommended" to workout on an empty stomach so I'm not going to say anything more.

He seemed pretty good with nun chucks as well. Anyway, I say if you are willing to buy that stuff (protein powder etc) go for it, else stick to food and work out hard. Remember sitting on your butt and eating protein powder means no muscle gains.

Relative morality doesn't work that well...does it? Are you saying that culture that sees slavery as an okay thing (sub Saharan Africa) or sees female genital mutilation as okay (lots of places in Africa in the Middle East) is still a valuable culture?

Right now im doing the Body-for-life plan.. its working well, and im seeing results, however Myoplex is suggested as a supplement, but Myoplex is REALLY expensive, so I am really looking for alternatives. Thanks for all the inputs so far

tuna is dry. its difficult too eat, can leave a bad fish smell, and i don't think it has the flexibility of the
protein powders. you can do so much with them. the few carbohydrates difference between the two
is negligible.

you shouldn't be trying to reduce your carbohydrate intake to such ridiculously low levels anyway. take
care to watch the quality of the carbohydrates, more than the sheer amount.

I'm not. Im getting plenty of quality carbs from my whole food meals, I just dont want to add more with my supplements.

actually, my friend has something he got from GNC.. low cal protein.. i think 20 some g per serving. it tasted pretty good mixed w/ milk.

Thanks, ill check out the simply protein.

After all this, I think I am going to end up sticking with the twinlab stuff... it only has 16grams of protein, but it also has some other great stuff in it, and can really function as a decent nutrition shake... all for 10.50

Any other good places to buy online?

<< Something about the title of this thread is terribly disconcerting 😀 >>

If that were the case, then I'd say go with tuna, definitely! 😀
