What do you guys think is the best 500+ watt powersupply on the market?

Ive been looking at antec and enermax, but not sure which one i am going to pick up yet.

I will be running a asus a8n sli deluxe with a64 3500 proc bfg 6800gt and 1gb corsair ddr400.

Id like to keep the price to sub $100 for my ps too.

Thanks

well I'm fairly new to the forum but Im using (well, correction will be!!) a OC Z 520W model and apparently they are second to none..

My friend has an Antec 480W model and that is been good for him. I have also had a Enermax 465W model and that was great as well.

I know my Enermax was £65 to £70 when I bought it and I know my OC Z model was £108 but I think that US prices are slightly different to the UK's!

I dont think you'll go wrong with either or them.. Just pick one, Im sure you will be happy with either 🙂

 I need to start a threead...

"I want the fastest most comfortable car made... for $2,385.71."

Zippy 700 watt psu.
Its 315 bucks.

BTW, PCP&C psu's use Zippy and Fortron parts.

For 100 bucks the best you can do IMHO is the Fortron Bue Storm 500 watt.

Antec TruePower 550 - on sale for $99.49 at Newegg plus $7 shipping. It ought to power anything you throw at it, even a pair of SLI'd 6800 Ultras.

Anyone know if Antec has raised the amps on the +12V rail on the new revisions of this? I'm wondering because the True 380 that came in a Sonata I bought recently had 24A instead of the 18A that newegg had listed in the specs, so I'm wondering if these units got beefed up as well.

I vote for Antec. Pick your price, and get one. The 430 true power at about $70 (no shipping included) is probably the best value, and will still run 2 SLI'ed video cards.

Most of the above suggestions are good: PC Power & Cooling, Zippy/Emacs, Seasonic, Enermax, OCZ, Fortron/Sparkle, Antec

Stay within that group and you'll be fine.

or you COULD look at it this way:

"mr car salesman, what is the best car i can get for $10,000" im not asking for a lamborghini for 10k, just the best for the money. kthx

Enermax's aren't very good. those 550's are 550 watts at 25C higly unlighly. at 40C which seems to be fair it only produces 366 watts. I'm not sure about antec or Ocz but i would not be suprised if they also over inflate their power numbers.
