I'd say the Philippines - warm weather, warm ocean, great nightlife, cheap prices once you get there.
any particular place?

Boracay is amazing - crystal clear water and white sand beaches. It's in the Western Visayas.. near the island of Panay. South of Manila.

I cannot believe people are suggesting the Bahamas. Have you ever been there? It's about 99% completely rundown. Unless vacationing in ghettos is cool...? 😕

another vote for london.

fares aren't too expensive, lots of touristy things to do, everyone speaks english, everything is written in english, there's good hiking in the lake district(NW of london iirc), decent clubbing.

the only problem is the flight will be on the order of 20 hours unless you break it up.

also, mosquitoes, mosquitoes, mosquitoes! 😉

San Pedro, Belize

<2 hours from Miami/Houston
Cheap
Locals all speak English
Second largest barrier reef in the world ~ 200 yards from shore
Good nightlife
Sidetrips to Mayan Ruins and cave tubing easy to arrange

nice, eh?

I have been to this place, FABULOUS. I didn't suggest it because the less the word gets out the better it will stay 🙂

It's about 16 hours... plus lots of travel time. It's a cool flight though.. you leave around midnite and fly through the night!

Actuall I would strongly advise against it! It is just extremely expensive to go to the UK (getting there is not the problem, hotel, food, car-rental or even underground tickets are though!) and London is just crazy pricewise.

If you want to come over to our wonderfully socialist europe 😉 may I suggest Barcelona. An awesome place, my favorite city in Spain with lots of nightlife, touristy bits, great restaurants and mostly excellent weather. The prices aren't too bad either - there are bargains to be found - so even coming from US$ it won't be so bad - much better than London at any rate 😀

but the accents are so much cooler in london 😉

anyway, i agree it is expensive there. there is always the temptation to think of things as if they were in USD instead of GBP and think "that's not too expensive".

however, london is still one of our favorite places to visit.

not much night life in boracay. Not the night life he is thinking of I am sure, discos, restaurants, etc. Excellent though if you are into scuba diving.
