Best place to be homeless ?

Seconded. You can sightsee all you want, tons of public beaches, weather is always warm. If you are on the island of Kawaii then there are plenty of wild chickens and lizards to eat.

Key West wasn't that picturesque. Its culture and bars are nice, but beaches are lacking.

Miami is pretty damn good place to be homeless. Stay in South Beach and enjoy it all day and it's also a busy tourist trap where you can pan handle effectively.

I had some stupid landlord problems last spring and it took a while to find a new place I could afford, so I was staying with friends, sleeping in my car, and so on. From that experience I'll say a good place to be homeless is someplace you know really well, because it's easier to find a safe & hidden place to park the car for a few days, and I knew a lot of places to use the bathroom, get cleaned up, and to relax during the day when I needed to.

I was surprised at how many other people were doing the same thing.

California somewhere, is it San Fran that has the politics that are "super cool to the homeless"? The fact that you could sleep outside with no cover most of the year is a big plus.

I don't even understand why we have so many homeless around here. I know our welfare benefits system is good but the weather is horrible...wet and cold. I remember last year they were starting to break into the basements of buildings in Burlington to get drunk and sleep.

We have a tent city of homeless people in the woods near us. Literally a city. They have a yard with sheep and chickens, etc.

Used to live there. Plenty of warm weather. Easy to live off the land. Very easy in fact.

Cold as fuck.

While those places may be cold the social safety net those places employ would have you in a bed, fed, treated at a hospital and get you the psychological help you may need.

They even help with halfway houses and job placement once your healthy...


My second choice would be Hawaii as well.

I would go to the other side of Maui where the locals are living on the beach. Watch out for Dog Chapman though while yourthere..

This. In Hawaii they let you set up tents on public beaches. Some beaches in the seedier parts of the island there are practically tent villages of homeless people. And there are showers, restrooms etc. Plus it hardly gets below 70. If I was homeless, I would definitely scrounge however many pop cans I needed to get a one way ticket.
