astroglide is great but the container it comes in is leaky

wet light works pretty well, or just plain wet if you like it to be a bit thicker

After years of this she seems perfectly fine. Get a bit more bitchy but I always thought it was the aging. Also, the ice cube doesn't really stay in one spot with all the commotion going on in there so I doubt frost bite would be a problem.
