I would go with the Chaintech VNF4 Ultra. It's cheaper than all 3 of those, and it's nforce 4 ultra.

That board doesn't have full Hyper Transport speed (x5) which tears a few points from memory controller performance.
Make sure you get a Nforce4 Ultra, not a Nforce 4x

inter,
nice xls. i was researching a very sim setup but using intel platforms. either the asus mobo with i925XE chipset (seems pricey) or the older i875 chipset (older platform). i'm not big into gaming atm and need to run sql svr and dotnet stuff for work so i thought i'd give intel a go since the last couple computers i built were amd.
i havent priced out or researched an amd solution yet, so i'll pinch your xls as a base.
fyi, the wd 75gb raptor is currently $155 at newegg ($25 refund).

I was doing some testing on it, and on the sandra memory bandwidth test, I only get 4900 mb/s. I read lots of reviews of other nforce 4 boards, and they always get around 5900 mb/s, with the sames specs as mine (athlon 64 3500, 2 corsair sticks, in dual channel), does anybody have any suggestions on why this is so low?

Hi
I am planning to ammamble my AMD64 bit machine.
i am considering the below FOUR MOBO with 939 socket.
http://www.msi.com.tw/program/...mbd_detail.php?UID=638
http://www.giga-byte.com/Mothe...ducts_GA-K8NXP-SLI.htm
http://www.asus.com/products/m.../a8nsli-d/overview.htm
http://www.abit-usa.com/produc...gories=1&model=215
all the boards looks good,
All the way i am using only laptops, this is the first time i am assambling the desktop.
i am not sure with which MOBO to go with.
i had below questions
1) is it good to go with MOBO with on board features, or just go with basic board.
2) which boards are stable.
3) MSI board says it is SATAII but it says speeds can go up to 300MB/s, while all the other vendors says SATAII can go up to 3GB/s
I am confused, please can any one elobrate on this
4) I feel i am leaning more towards MSI, but i am not sure about its stability, is my choice a good one.
Basically i play with linux, very less with windows

its just as overclockable as any of the other boards, acually ive heard from people with this board that it overclocks very well. so, i still recommend this board.

One important thing to remember about the Gigabyte board that everyone is worried about being 4x HTT instead of 5x -
If you overclock, most everyone has to lover their HTT to 4x anyhow, and suffer minute if any losses therein.
Mines on it's way, hopefully some good results will be posted shortly.
