A good sex session is also highly rated as exercise but don't the missus's that!

That's expensive. Dinner and drinks repeated a minimum of 3 times is MUCh more than a year's membership at 24 Hr. Fitness.........plus schedualing is always erratic and impossible 10 days out of the month.

TF? Who says you have to do dinner and drinks before sex?! This is a workable option if you have a gf/ wife and not meant for single guys. The last thing on your mind is 'fitness' when your having sex.

Shower

Bball is great but harder to setup as you need other guys. Same with 5v5 Football.

True running is hard on your knees, but I have a feeling most people here don't even run and just say that. I can run 6 miles everyday for a whole week and not experience any type of foot or shin problems (granted I am not an older person). Maybe the problem lies in your form? 🙂

Running is a great exercise but it can be tough for guys that use the wrong FOOTWEAR and are too heavy to start off with. People who were active when younger already have the required level of fitness to start running. It's the guys that weren't active when younger that struggle, because they haven't conditioned themselves to run and are heavier now.

Well, if some of the obese people went swimming or running as much as they had sex...they would be in much better shape. But as the above poster mentioned, sex is better than any treadmill.

Hell if Obese People went running or swimming more often they muight be in shape to have sex or at least attract someone interested in having sex with them.

lol, well I'm not obese 🙂

So this is impossible to say as a general statement.

For me, I have flat feet and if I run for more than a week my ankles basically colapse and putting any weight on them for days results in immense pain. The only cardio that I can do is low-impact.

And if anyone drowns because of a foot cramp, they probably shouldn't be swimming in the first place.

I cycle myself, but if I ever got one of those endless pools I'd never freaking leave.

Swimming may be less convenient but you use your whole body as oppose to mostly your legs. In addition running really f's up your joints and can cause shin splints.

Once your leg muscles get strong enough, joint pain and shin splints become non existent. I've found this out through personal experience. My right knee used to hurt like hell when I first started running regularly, but now I have visibly stronger calves and quads, and NEVER get joint pain or shin splints.

Just like back pain can be caused by a weak abdominal wall, knee pain can be caused by weak leg muscles.

I can never get a good workout from swimming.

I would think that the effectiveness of the exercise would be based on the current condition of the person. For the more fit person i would probably say running, especially if they had scenary to see while running.

For the larger person i could see how swimming could save them a lot of injuries but it would be dull going back and forth.

I use to run but I discovered ROLLERBLADING is a way better excercise and way better on your knees. Plus its way more fun and when ever there are stair to climb down you can just do this:

Then you aren't doing it right

Isn't it obvious when someone isn't swimming right? Those people are always down at the bottom of the pool.

I just want to throw out there, I do a lot of heavy weight lifting with very little cardio, and my blood pressure is 110/66

bye bye, that theory.

You're also what, 19 or 20?

I'm 52 and my BP is 120/80 but along with Weight Training I do cardio daily. Of course if I was your age I probably wouldn't have too! to youth!!

Running takes slightly more calories than swimming, but swimming is just plain harder to do. Running somehow is more of man's natural enviroment.

Maybe the "best" exercise is whatever you enjoy, because if you enjoy it then you'll actually do it.
