That said, disarm and rape me.

I avoided a poll, because there are so many great songs from both of the bands, that it'd be impossible to organize.

And as insomniak said, a lot of great tracks never made it to radio. The poll would be heavily skewed toward the top40 singles.

LOL change the words to "My mouth's not open, it's barely open" because that's what he sounds like when he is singing that song... :D (from a local radio show)

And this is where you are wrong.

Even John Mayer is better than Creed. And that's saying a lot, because he really sucks.

Opinions are like assholes....

Truthfully, I never really got to look that closely at the b-side stuff, but the limited exposure I did get never impressed me. Care to suggest some tracks?

Nirvana - too hard. I'm gonna say "Sappy" though

Smashing Pumpkins - "Today" easily

Doh - had to mention Rhinocerous - that song got me into SP in the first place.

The entire Siamese Dream album though, imho, is just about the most amazing CD to me, ever. Ranks right up there with RageATM's first. I hold Rush: Chronicles in high regard too. It's a pretty exclusive list.

 To your taste in music

SP: Hummer, Here is No Why, Suffer, Mayonnaise, Window Pain (sp?) come to mind

<-- goes to find Gish and Siamese Dream CDs in moving boxes

Nirvana: Only really listened to Nevermind and In Utero, fav's off In Utero: Very Ape, Dumb

I'd definitely suggest the "Aeroplane Flies High" 5 disk set. They have 5 of the original singles off Mellon Collie (BWBW, 33, Tonite Tonite, 1979, Zero), and then 4 - 6 b-sides on each disk. Can't just name a specific track.

You need to look closer at their b-side stuff. It is really worth it IMHO.

Also check out Machina II that they released to the net (for free) right at breakup.

Downloading now - wasn't aware of Machina II, thanks for the heads up.

I could never get into Nirvana. I like a little complexity, and that's abundant with the Pumpkins, who I did & do like very much. It's all but absent from Nirvana. Favorite Nirvana song (I can listen to them, and had to, since a few friends of mine adored them) is probably the fast version of Polly on Incesticide. Favorite Pumpkins song is a tough choice, rather than make it I'll list a few favs - I Am One, Hummer, Muzzle
