I agree BF1942 and Desert Combat unfortunately the latest versions of each and the No cd patches don't seem to play well together unless someone can help otherwise.

I'm using BF1942 1.4 patch, the Road to Rome expansion and Desert Combat 0.38 with a no-cd crack from gameburnworld with no trouble. Bless those guys at gameburnworld. I'd go nuts without no-cd patching all my games. Add the +restart to the command line of your no-cd patched bf1942 and the game literally starts in 1/4 the time.

Sorry for the noob question, but where would I find the command line to do what you suggest?

Make a copy of your BF1942 link, rename it to DC(or something), right click on it, select properties, then add the following line(without the quotes) to the target:

"+restart 1 +game desertcombat"

Desert Combat will work using this method, but other mods won't in my experience.

Operation Flashpoint, hands down, is an awesome game for MP. The AI is quite difficult (like sim games should be), but the guns are rockingly fun. Good co-op missions keep you coming back for more, its just too bad the game looks and feels a bit dated.

I use just the +restart 1 on mine. I typically launch desert combat from "All Seeing Eye" the game browser that was recommened to me by someone here that I'm quite happy with.

Oh, I just realized(I think :D ), thee "+restart 1" is for eliminating the startup screens. Almost as good as the No-CD by itself.
