CS rules, but recently I've played some MP Wolfenstein and loved it. Although I haven't tried it, one of my favorite strategy series, Commandos, is supposed to be very fun online in co-op mode.

<< Text-based MUD.

Dear lord, they stole years of my life from me, literally.

Nod that.

And for FPS-es: Rise of the Triads. We played that for ages at the university, first FPS with levels purely made for multi-player mode.

<< CS, but that has changed. Now its Wolfenstein! 64 player matches rule!!! >>

haha..know what you mean..never enjoyed so much mayhem in my life before..

Starcraft. That was easy... What else has been out for over 4 years or so and still has tons of people playing it?

Quake is short lived and constantly changes with the next version.. Quake II, Quake III... I don't see anyone still playing plain old Quake. Counter-Srike? Too new to know and furthermore it's only REALLY popular in the U.S. Once the next good game similar to CS comes out it will die.

... now eagerly waiting Warcraft III... 12 player strategy game..... crazy....

QUAKE 2 CAPTURED THE FLAG (CTF) ITS THE FRIGGIN BOMB DIGGIDY BEST MULTIPLAYER CO-OP GAME EVER MADE.......................................... ugh im on dialup now after 3 1/2 years of cable... so someone friggin shoot me.

are you kidding??? in my country there are at least roughly 100 units playing CS per block! you don't know how big cs has become man.

booooh down with Kiddie-Strike, Cheater-Strike or whatever you want to call it 😛

My personal top3:

1: UT
2: RTCW
3: Diablo2

<< I can't believe I didn't see one person mention Duke Nukem 3D! The remote ridicule 0wnz! >>

I agree. 🙂 I still have fond memories of playing Duke3D on the school network during my keyboarding class back in HS.

But for best netplay and overall multiplayer **Quake 2 CTF** is king.

I concur. Quake 2, even though it was supposed to be a better 1 player games, was actually a better multiplayer game than q1...

As for Dukematching...OH YEAH! Freeze gun, anyone? 😀

bumpy...

I'd have to go with Starcraft or Counter-strike, look at how old these games are! All you people playing RTCW or D2 probably wont be playing it 3-4 years from now. Starcraft and CS have stood the test of time, especially Starcraft, but admittedly they are beginning to show their age.

Half Life is my fave first persion shooter.
Tiberain Sun for my strag games
San Fran Sisco Rush for racing
ANY STAR WARS GAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
O yeah the first UNREAL
AGE OF EMPIRES
AND STARSIEGE 1 FOR mec type fighting

DoD Beta 2 (<---reviewer) is a ton of fun. It won't eclipse CS players wise, not even close, infact a lot of people might be turned off towards the more realstic recoil, but it is so much fun. I figure I have MOH for SP and DOD for MP.

Overall, I loved CS and TFC years ago, now its getting old and cheater filled.
