Did some searching and saw a post on AVS forums that said 3D Blu-ray does 4K rentals by mail and so does GameFly

GameFly still exists? Well, I'll be!

Looks like $14/mo for the 1 disc at a time plan (movies only, $2 more if you also want to be able to rent games) that includes 4K. Not a bad option, if you can do at least 2 discs per month.

We splurged on a nice 7.1 atmos set up

Only downside is very few movies sound all that great now, because the quality of the recording is obviously dated. LOTR is sounds like a 20yo movie. Not that they sound bad, just the difference becomes obvious vs newest movies.

Dune however, is amazing. The bass lines during the end credits are amazing. The bass sound stage sizzles and shifts like the vibrating sands in the movie during worm sign.

Look at anything with Hans Zimmer. Many Christopher Nolan movies feature him. Dunkirk is great. Tenet.

The race scene in Ready Player One is great.

Blockbuster movies are usually good

I might give it a shot. They didn't have Master and Commander so the library is a bit off.

The best time to buy blu-rays is during black friday sales. There is a mod on slickdeals (persian_mafia) who starts a BF movie thread every year. I think I bought around 50 movies this past BF season.

Recently I've bought from Gruv.com. Keep an eye out there for sales and use coupon SIGNUP20 for 20% off. They are very slow to ship your order out though.

Yeah, I've placed a couple orders from gruv.com during sales too.

Dark City
YES! That would be great - but I love that movie. My gaming handle is usually MrSleep, unless someone else has already stolen it for a given game/service.
Don't have Blu-ray right now; player is ded. Don't have a 4K TV yet, the old HD one keeps working just fine - dammit.
