I watched the Purge Anarchy last night and for life of me i cannot see how people think this is better than the first.

Better is kind of a pointless term in this case as the first movie was just god awful.

The first Halloween movie is my answer to the question. Scary but not over the top with gore.

I never really liked the third one. I haven't seen it since it came out though so maybe I should revisit it.

That could have been a good movie if they had cast any single living person on the planet except Shelly Duval. She pretty much single handedly makes that movie unwatchable (for me).
