The Rocky Horror Picture Show
The Exorcist
Hellraiser

Plenty of others but on the campy side

Killer Klowns from Outer Space
The Blob (I liked the remake, both I like)
Suspiria
Phantasm
Near Dark
Let the Right One In.

I've almost a Halloween birthday, used to have some great Halloween/Birthday Parties growing up.

:)

Have you watched Nightmare on Elm Street recently? It does not hold up at all and I used to absolutely love it.

I am with you on Halloween; I'm not a huge fan. I would far rather watch The Thing or In The Mouth of Madness if I was going to watch a Carpenter flick. I do love Friday The 13th though.

Die Hard.

Oh wait, wrong holiday. Still, you can watch Die Hard at any time.

Young Frankenstein would be my top pick. Though I do love the Shining as well as Killer Klowns from Outer Space as well ...

It's not Halloween for me until I've watched Hocus Pocus.

I actually seem to recall liking this one, haven't watched it in awhile but it's a bit campy also.

Have to watch it again.
The Night Flier (1997)

It's worth a view if you never have.

I'm interested to see how Annabelle is, I did like The Conjuring more than I thought I would.

This is a hard one.
I should have suggestions by Im drawing a blank.
I'd say something with a lot of thunder, rain, stormy, creaky sounds, an old dark and creepy isolated mansion, and no silly monsters.
Something where the norm is a little twisted.
Like with my favorite classic film THE BAD SEED, where a seemingly pleasant all American little girl is actually a mass murderer.
Something you'd never expect.
But whatever the Halloween film, there must be a lot of crashing thunder, lightening and creaks.

If you can handle shaky-cam, VHS and VHS2 are the best horror movies ever made IMHO, there's a third on the way and I can't wait.

Trick r Treat
Creepshow 1 and 2

I prefer spooky fun for Halloween rather than an all out gore fest.
