hell i figured if we have a thread for the worst movies might as well ahve some for the best movies as well. also it may be funny if a movie get son both threads

I've worked christmas day from 530A-600P for the past 4 years(soon to be 5) because we get paid time and a half, and I'll pop in Shawshank at about 2ish and watch it til it's time to get ready for work :D

I need to find out what book the short story is in so I can get a copy :eek:

This I agree with. I can never get tired of watching this movie. Excellent movie and one of these days I will read the short story by Stephen King.

Yea I read the book first...both are excellent...usally one is better than the other, but I didnt dsee it that way.

Movies that were great to me the first time watching are:

LOTR
Colors
Braveheart
Conan The Barbarian
We Were Soldiers

There are many many more but those are just off the top of the head

i luv Shawshank Redemption but can't see it anymore because its one of those once you see it, its over for me, like the usual suspects.

best movies of all time?
in no specific odor:

1) Matrix (how this movie has influenced commericals, t.v. shows, you name it...)
2) Braveheart (awesome movie, M. Gibson, historical, all the good stuff)
3)Goonies (i like it okay)
4) Ferris Buellers day off - nuff said
5) The Breakfast club
6) There's something about Mary
7)Scarface
8)Scarface (Al Pacino deserves 2x props)
9) Godfather trilogy
10) Best of cumsucker volume 5, episode 18, version c
