I'd also like to add Bjorn Strid of Soilwork (yes I know, "Speed") into the conversation, though I doubt many will agree with me.

Nu-metal sucks and needs to just finally die already.

I would agree with you on Bjorn as Soilwork is one of my favorites but they arent that good live.

I've unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) never seen them live, I don't think they come to the states that much, and when they do I doubt they bother with my city. Too bad that they're not good live, but it doesn't surprise me. Their sound is very produced and thus probably hard to recreate live.

I think for the purposes of the OP though, it's considered rock. I consider LZ rock, no matter what the definition says.

Actually I find the greatest detriment to the entire metal genre is most of the singers sound horrible and often sound like 80s rock singers (i.e. dragon force). Anyway, the instruments sound great but most of the singers are just terrible.

Why do you have to use Dragonforce, a band that barely takes themselves seriously, as an example...

How can Dio have 8 votes? How retarded are you people?

People aren't old enough to know his music I guess.

You know what? I wasn't around when Beethoven rawked either... but I know it.
How can you know where you're going if you don't know where you've been?

Pfftt... "Metal" fans voting Opeth to the top. Horrible.

Lemmy, hands down Lemmy, he defines the Heavy Metal voice.

Hetfields near him, but not quite, shit like the pretend to be operah singers like Dickinson is just pathetic, that shit ain't metal, it's just pop with a few solos here and there.

Dio is ok, when he tries, problem is that he wants so bad to be Ozzy and he ain't, no one but Ozzy can be Ozzy.

Oh shut up, Dio is the replacement for Ozzy who tried to imitate him all of his career, that is all he ever was.

And no, he never even came close, Ronnie James Dio has a wannabe voice at best, after he left Sabbath and tried to do shit on his own everyone realised that Sabbath was nothing without Ozzy and Dio was nothing at all.

He should have done something else because as a vocalist for a metal band he was horrible.

Lemmy would be my #2 for sure.

You got Dio as NO1 and Lemmy as NO2, try to explain to me how drunk you must be to get that to work.

One of them has a voice that screams metal, the other one has a voice that just screams, he did better synth music than heavy metal.

Bruce Dickinson. All others can lick his boots.

I do like Dio, King Diamond and Erik "A.K." Knudtsen of Flotsam and Jetsam also.

I guess, if you like disco.

Real metal isn't supposed ot be ...

Wait a minute, Metallica isn't Metal and neither is Motorhead, that's Hard Rock, so i guess neither should be in the poll with the metal screamers.

Sorry 'bout that but he had some real Hard Rock names in the poll.

Ok, of the metal people i choose Pamela Moore then, she can go lower and higher than any other metal singer. Used to sing with Queensrÿche who also had a great lead.

I enjoy some metal, just not scream metal like Maiden and shit like that.

Maiden isnt even anywhere close to being classified as "Scream Metal"
