I look at it like a fictional short story book. Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut for example. There's no point to it, but it's a fun escape from reality/exercise for the imagination for a while.

A fun read,
an exercise in futility,
a duty dance with death.
 
After reading this a few months back, its sad to say I just now got the pun. Wow, I guess I am a little slow.

It was interesting enough that I kept reading to the end. Didn't laugh but it made me smile. It wasn't until a couple pages of the replies that I noticed that it was dated from 2005!!!
