According to reviews it appears to be just a litle worse then the winchesters so in most cases the best may not be needed....The heat wont really rise as much until you start overvolting and how much. I bet my lowly TT venus 12+ can take me to 3ghz. Remember stock cooling is able to take stock winnies to 2.6ghz now.
If I had to make a choice I would agree the XP-90 would be mine.
I am sure we will see some more reviews and users (europeans) with them soon, so we will get an idea what it is going to take...
Here is a link to argueably the three best HSF's out right now. Looks like the XP-90 is the best bet since it's the lightest of the three and cools within ~1 degree of the other two.
The XP-120 would be a good choice if you're looking for a more quiet air cooling system b/c a 120mm fan can push more CFM at lower decibels. But you have to make sure that the XP-120 will fit on your mobo.
I really like the Sanyo Denki fans. They are the thicker 38mm style so they produce gobs of cfm (103cfm to be exact). At max rpm they are rated at 39db which seems pretty accurate a as far as I can tell. Here is a link to the fan I have.
You can hook it up to the mobo header or a fan controller and regulate the noise and cfm. Mine spins at 800rpm most of the time and I get 28C at idle and 38C at load with 1.4V vcore. With 1.52V I get 31C at idle and 43C at load.
