From the cases we've recommended so far what has caught your eye? We might be able to make more suggestions if we have an idea of what you like.

Obsidian from Corsair and the HAF X or 42

I need a full case with lots of upgrade capabilities...

I need it to hold 10 HDD's

I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned and I actually forgot about it, but have you considered the Define XL? I'm a big Fractal Design fanboy these days and considered it before picking the R3.

Edit - just want to point out that, even though it's cheap you'd most likely have to replace the stock fans, at least the top fan is 180mm and you can shove a Silverstone 180mm in there, not bad :)

Keep the ideas coming.

I love the pictures !!!

If you could only own one case for the rest of your life... what would everyone choose ???

Silverstone TJ-07 is the ultimate full tower case without getting into boxes.
Well, thats if u can find one....

LOL... i can think of other cases which would top 400-500 in a large tower like a Windy, but we wont go there... :p

Once u see a Windy.... all the other cases just look MEH.

I'd probably go with a SilverStone TJ-11. IMO it's the best all around case with good air cooling and enough room to water cool if you decided to do that down the road. Most cases make you pick either air or water because they either lack adequate room for water cooling (SilverStone FT02/RV02) or have poor airflow for air cooling (Corsair 800D). The TJ-11 is a nice balance between both options. The only reason I don't already own one is the rather steep ~$600 price tag.

think all the best options available put to use in a case.

How do you figure that? WiNDY cases are definitely very nice looking and appear to be very high quality, but I don't see anything revolutionary or particularly clever in the actual design.

Well, the high end windys have multi layer doors with sound dampening, insane airflow possibilities and features like complete disassembly. Not worth the high price tag but if it's what you want you have to pay a premium.

Complete disassembly is probably nice if you're a modder, and multi-layered doors with sound dampening sounds intriguing. However, I'm not seeing the "insane airflow possibilities"...

Here I see one internal 120mm fan circulating air and a single 120mm fan exhausting air out the back. It also looks like video card size is pretty limited. There does appear to be pre-drilled holes in the side panel for more fans.

This case doesn't really offer anything special over a white Corsair 650T...

...which has all of these features, plus cable management grommets and a removable HD cage to allow the case to accommodate even the longest video cards. The WiNDY is arguably better looking though.

-------

Here I see a huge case with internal 120mm or 140mm fans up front, and what looks like some 80mm rear exhaust fans straight from 2003.

Not exactly what I'd call awesome airflow, and nothing that you didn't get with an old Lian Li PC-7 Plus II and with the optional side fan.

Again, the WiNDY is better looking even then the Lian Li, which was a pretty sharp looking case in it's day. I actually still have a silver PC-7 Plus II that my secondary rig lives in.

You're right, as I wrote it's very expensive. But look at the double door with sound dampening. I'd be all over that :O

I am mostly looking for lots of room for HDD's and space. Cool features.

Looks would rank somewhere behind that.

What about

Fractal Design Define XL

fractal-xl-17-l.jpg

Not really all that high end in terms of pricing, but it has USB3.0, 8 expansion slots, 10 3.5" bays, sound dampening, plenty of room for cable management, potential for great cooling with added fans, supports CPU coolers up to 180mm in height (!). What else do you need?

I suggested this one up top, OP have you considered it? It's cheap enough that you could stack it full of Noctua fans and get a high OC while keeping it quiet.

Not much point in paying a huge premium for Noctua fans IMO. Most of fan noise comes from air swooshing by the meshes and filters anyway, not the fan blades themselves. If you want quietness with good airflow, that means several fans which don't need to be noctua, downvolted with a fan controller.

I'll have to give my vote for the HAF-X. If your budget is $300 add a Corsair H100 and it should be a decent set up.

I got the 600T... the case is amazing relative to my Antecs. I'm excited to start the buildup, though the lack of space at the top for a push/pull on the H100 is a little annoying.

So if the 800 is anything like the 600...

OP didn't say anything about water cooling, I'd stay away from the 800 unless you plan on having some water loops in it. Reason being it's too expensive solely for his requirements.

Yeah it looks sweet! I am still deciding. I have not purchased anything yet. I want to buy the case before ordering the rest of my parts.

I have a full tower now.. and working PC. It is a Thermaltake Armor black. It's ok but lacks some newer features. I think I want a new case with more room for HDD's

No water cooling. I will overclock to the max of Air cooling and leave it there.

I open the case and mess with stuff to often to want to worry about water cooling.
