Hey guys,

I own a Everglide mousepad, that i like well. But the middle of it has become dull I guess you can say, becuase that is where most of the action from my mouse was. I was wondering what would be the best replacement for it. I see the fUNC mousepad on newegg and the ratpadz. I am looking for one that will last me a long time and not get dull on me. I also want it as smooth as glass.

Give me your suggestions and experiences please. I am also armed with a logitect dual mouseman optical.

I thought that with an optical mouse a glossy/smooth surface is the last thing you need. I have an optical mouse and I also have the Everglide GIGANTA mouse mat which has a slight texture on it which is supposed to aid the reception of optical information. I have had it for some time now and it hardly looks worn at all.

So that would be my recommendation. :)

Try some mouse skatz(tape for the feet) first from here ,cheaper then buying a new mouse pad.

I like the cloth pads. Allsop makes one that you can get from most BBs and CCs. I also have some freebies that are thin cloth. I love 'em. :) Hard pads are too slick for me. I need a bit more friction.

I've always been satisfied with the cheap cloth pads with my MS Optical. I like the way they feel better than the plastic type pads.

You'll be amazed at how much better hte RatPadz GS (Or the regular sized one) over the Everglides. I had the Clear Optical one which I thought was awesome--until I picked this GS up for $5. My MX700 rolls over the surface like its ice in a skillet.

I've heard good things about the Func pad, but I wouldn't know firsthand.

OK i just figured out how to install them but you know the feet that are already on the mice? One of them fell off a while ago, do you think i should just tape over it or rip off all the feet and tape over them?

I lost one of my mouse feet, anyway I took the rest off and put some of that mouse skatez tape on,make sure it covers all the feet area so cut equal amounts for the feet area.

Hmmm you forgot the new kid in town by Everglide, they have a new improved model that`s getting excellent reviews,it`s called the Everglide Ricochet Pad,has two different surfaces ,one for each side.
The fact that I've probably lost about 50% of my readers by the first page really has to make me sum up the Everglide Ricochet pad in 3 words: it's bloody fantastic.

I have to second this. I have tried nearly every mousing surface mentioned here, and the C4 Surface slaughters every single one of them. It is the best mousing surface I have ever used. Be sure to get some teflon tape/mouse skates with it.

I have my C4 Installed on an Everglide Giganta and it works great. Just order some C4 and install it over your current everglide. I use mine with both a microsoft intellimouse explorer wireless, as well as a razer boomlsang 2100 so it works great with an optical or ball mouse.

Plus it's cheaper than any of the other solutions, provided you already have a surface to stick it on to. You cant go wrong. Get some C4

Buying mouse tape here is better as well you get yards of it for like 5$. Mouse skates are the same thing, but super expensive because people are too dumb and they pay for it.

The best mousepad (and trust me, I've tried plenty) I've ever had is my current one. It was free. Know what it was? A folder I got from a seminar. It has proven better than those cheapy mousepads, those expensive mousepads, and even my bare desktop wood. I've used both the MS Intellimouse 3.0 and my current Logitech MX700 on it. By far the best, and by far the cheapest. Can't go wrong with free. Search around your house for various items, and test them all before you go plop down more money. My folder has a slightly rough surface, which is great for control + response.

My 2¢

It does not stick well to cloth. However you dont have to stick it to a mousepad, you can go buy a cheap plastic cutting board for 1$ at the dollar store or anything that isnt cloth. It doesnt make any difference what it is stuck too, as long as it is hard/not cloth. Some people just stick it to the wood of their desk. The only reason mine is on my everglide, is because my everglide had worn out, just like the one the original poster of this thread has

I see.

Let me ask you this.... what mouse pad do you recommend for the best precision tracking? I'm a graphic artist, so precision is crucial to me, but I also like to game as well.

I saw the review on the Everglide being a good pad for gaming, but not necessarily precision tracking. I need the best of both worlds.

Any recommendations? I'd like to get a sweet mouse pad and put the C4 on it for optimal tracking results.

Money is not an issue.
