I'd say they both should just give themselves a pat on the back. Save the indurance awards for...well... some other topic that cannot be discussed here. ;)

Nothing.

Dating anniversaries are an internal thing only.

I think I've been taking too many accounting courses.

I mean it's a between the couple only sort of thing. They aren't for public acknowledgement.

Their anniversary is something that should be celebrated between them and ONLY them. Save your money. Are they expecting you to get them something?

Nothing. That's kind of creepy. Friends don't do anything for each other's wedding anniversaries either.

Edit: Seriously, you don't even concern yourself with it other than:

Friend: "Annie and I have been going out for two years this tuesday."
You: "Wow, that's great!"

That's pretty much all there is to it.

Birthday's are different. Heck, I still get my friends something for their birthday. It could be a card or a sleeve of balls. Nothing big, but something to recognize their special day.

But for a 2 year relationship? wtf. It's like a couple trying to milk everything they can out of a wedding with a "couples shower", an "engagement shower", a "pre-wedding shower", etc.

Don't let people milk you like that.

Birthdays are totally different from anniversaries. I don't get my sister or brother or any of my friends anything for their anniversaries. The only anniversaries you bother to even talk about are your own and maybe your parents. That's it. Really.

I try and wish my friends a happy anniversary, but wedding anniversaries are quite different from dating ones, imho.

A present for a two year DATING Anniversary? Even Hallmark wouldn't make a card for a non-event like that.

What next, throwing a party for your babies first bowel movement? Wait... Tom Cruise probably already thought of that one. :disgust:

Nothing, why would you think that you needed to get them something. Even if they were married why would you think that you need to get them something? That's between the two of them.

I think dating anniversaries are dumb even for the people involved, but in any case there is no way in hell you should get them anything.

A night of menage a trois? Seeing you feel like you are part of the relationship.

Seriously, leaving the two alone for the day is the best gift you can give them you creepy person.

It is his two year anniversary, for dating nonetheless? Am I missing something? Why would you need to buy them anything?

Are you secretly in love with your best friend? ;) j/k j/k

No but seriously, why do you need to buy them anything? You aren't involved, unless the girlfriend is your sister or something (then I guess it wouldn't be awkward).
