Ughh, what high horse? I just said that I didn't think Southpark was a serious musical. Being a cartoon and all, not for its comedic value, maybe you should step back and think about this. :disgust:

....and 3/4's of Avenue Q's cast are puppets. Maybe you should think about what you're saying

Yes because I obviously said that Avenue Q was not a musical and Avenue is a cartoon...

/end sarcasm

Nice try but you fail, again.:disgust:

So then the criterion is that it must not be a cartoon? That's not really a great criterion considering all of the musical cartoons and ESPECIALLY considering the ones that have already been "ported" to the stage.

More like I don't take it as a "serious" musical because its all pre-recorded, when I said mentioned musical in my OP I meant in theatre, e.g. Broadway, but some people just can't apply the general idea of a musical to their posts.

Oh pre-recorded...but you let the Buffy musical and Moulin Rouge slide...hmmm...

In any case you say "some people just can't apply the general idea of a musical to their posts." I think that "some people" is you since you seem to have a LESS general idea of what constitutes a musical than others.

Ahh but what do I know. I'm only a semi pro actor, not a real pro actor ;)

Ask a bunch of people what their general idea of a musical is and the popular opinion would be a theatre production, I'm pretty sure I am correct on this.

I left the Buffy musical alone because I have not seen/heard of it, but I am pretty sure Moulin Rouge is ported to stage/broadway...

Post your favorite ATOT.

:D

I like Dear Officer Krupke from WSS as well.

Baz Luhrmann has talked about bringing Moulin Rouge to either Vegas or NYC but it has never actually happened.

How about Newsies? There's another great musical (?) that has, quite remarkably, never actually made it to the stage...at least not officially. There really isn't even any CG in Newsies...the performers were actually doing those dances!

Perhaps if you had asked about a favorite Broadway show, or a favorite stage show...

Seems like there's plenty of people in this thread who feel that a musical is simply some performed work - stage or screen - that has a lot of sung numbers in it.

There are numerous musicals from various Bollywood (Indian) movies. The medleyfrom Mujhse Dosti Karoge, for example.

From Broadway, I liked Chicago.

On DVD, I thought Moulin Rouge in DTS sounded amazing.
