Best deal on newsserver access?

As the other poster said, TV shows are up in minutes. Newsgrops max out my 15mbps connection within 5 seconds of downloading an NZB. There's way less viruses, trojans, and retarded password protected files. Torrents are for total noobs.

Public torrents maybe. Private torrents, absolutely no. I have zero use for ngs.

So... only advantage is downloading the TV show within minutes they aired?
One of many.
Usenet is:
Faster (always max out connection)
Quicker to make things available
No uploading required on the user's part
Private, since you're connecting only to the company and not umpteen other users who then see your IP
Longer lasting -don't have to worry about seeds dropping after a couple weeks or months. It's as fast a year later as it was the day it was released
Not P2P - Many internet companies (such as Time Warner) are filtering P2P. Whenever I had to update WoW, I had to disable P2P because my internet would slow down to nothing because of TW's filtering.

With my 50Mb connection I'll be fucked if I'm using torrents, It's either newsgroups or sometimes rapidshare for me.

Currently at $5.10 a month for unlimited SSL access on newsdemon. This was a black friday promotion (i used to be on astraweb as well).

Several usenet companies ALWAYS do black friday promotions so if you're patient...

I have been using Easynews for years now. It is nice not to have to bother with a newsreader and downloading headers. The web front end combined with the global search and autounrar features make it a breeze to use. Quite a leap from the old days of nn on *nix.

This thread's missing something, we need to start talking about drugs too.

what? its not against the law? hell i been using newservers for years and don't use it for warez at all. though the amount of people that use it has dropped to about 10% of what it was 10 years ago heh.

First rule of newsgroups?

what the first rule is fucking stupid.

I go with Astraweb 180gb block for $25 that doesn't expire. I still have 40gbs left after buying it back in October. Comes out to less than $5/month.

I do use torrents for most 30/60 minute tv shows though. Astraweb for older stuff and/or bigger downloads.

I haven't had a SINGLE virus or pw file because any torrent sites worth their salt have a community thumbing up/commenting/revealing any passwords.

If you spend money for Usenet, fine by me. As an outsider, I personally don't see any advantages over it from what you've mentioned so far.

Torrents-
Bandwidth: Always maxed just like Usenet
Selection: I always found what I needed

So... only advantage is downloading the TV show within minutes they aired? And you pay $6-30 a MONTH for this alone? Laugh.

Oh, you're just trolling. My bad.
