Maybe you should change "computer" to "PC" and specify limits. Then again, you've obviously put way too much time into this.

I vote for Bard's Tale 3 (commodore 64 baby!).
 
BF1942 was very innovative for its time, and not any other game gets me as addicted, because the gameplay is not repetetive at all.

ROME TW is also good.
 
You included the entire King's Quest and Police Quest series, but left out Space Quest?!? What were you thinking?!? SQ3 for teh win! :beer:

EDIT: Starflight 2 (another that did not make the list) was better than Starflight 1 IMO 🙂 Battletech: The Crescent Hawk's Inception was an excellent time waster. And no Wing Commander?!? Privateer > *
 
Best Strategy Game: Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne
Best MMORPG: World of Warcraft / Diablo II: Lord of Destruction
Best First Person Shooter: Counter-Strike 1.6..could be source if source fixed up a few things
