Looking to buy a CDRW drive soon and am once again trusting the great people here to help 🙂. I have the Plextor 241040A in mind and also saw the Philips PCRW2010 did well in reviews. Anyone have a suggestion? Thanks a lot.

i just bought the yamaha CRW3200 24/10/40 its great so far very fast includes safeburn also an 8mg buffer features include th new mt ranier cdrw which nothing spports yet but iam ready when it does also has a cool blue led

I just got my free Yamaha 3200e and I do have to say it is one nice drive.
Faster than my Liteon 24x(not by much)
I can say that if I was going to spend the money I would get the Yamaha.

For 24x, there really isnt anything that can match the Yamaha CRW3200, maybe the Plextor. You might as well wait for Plextor's 40x12x40 CD-RW though.

The Plextor 40X is already available at Mwave.

The only thing I dislike about it is the software, Adaptec/Roxio has not worked well in the past for me.

I would also suggest the Liteon from NewEgg. It comes with Nero burning software, IMHO better than Roxio!
