What does the power button have to do with GeekSquad anyway?

It's the use of color. Jsut change the word on to green and thank Best Buy for the free publicity for the new service.

We've seen this with Apple. They will patent or trademark things that were clearly used and invented before but because they were granted the patent or trademark, it's theirs and they sue people over it.

Actually, Apple has coughed up quite a bit of dough to others to buy/use trademarks.

Yeah but the color matches NewEgg's already existing color schemes that they have used on the eggs for years. It's not like they've had green eggs for 10 years and made 'ON' orange to create bran confusion with Geek Squad; the orange 'ON' merely fosters brand cohesiveness with the rest of NewEgg. And like others have pointed out it isn't even remotely the same service GeekSquad offers. This is just a troll from BestBuy for being butt hurt about the commercial.

The term "geek" was in use long before BB trademarked "Geek Squad." This doesn't give them absolute proprietary rights to the term "geek", even for commercial purposes, imho.

If so, them ima trademark "NerdHerd" for my new service supplying up to 20 awkwardly clueless virgins to show up at parties where YOU want to look good by compassion, and are willing to pay for that privilege.

Then I'll sue the Urkel-hiked pants off of anyone who uses the term "nerd" in their advertising. :p
NerdHerd. That's money.
