Dec 3-5(Sun-Tues) Best Buy will have a 15.4" widescreen Toshiba Celeron M Processor 420 notebook, XP Media Center edition 2005, 512MB DDR2, 60GB, DVD/CD-RW combo drive for $400. In store only Quantities limited. When they're gone, they're gone.

All week, Dec 3-9: ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 256MB PCI-Express graphics card $200
Here is the link to graphics card

PNY 7900GS 256MB PCI-Express graphics card $150

Looks like a nice deal on the lappy. Do you have a link for more specs? Like screen size? Also is that $400 OTD or is there $500 in rebates? Any more info would be appreciated.

It's 15.4" widescreen. Price is OTD. I can't find anything on BB's website. It says, "special buy on this NEW Toshiba notebook". Reg Price $600.

$399 OTD lpatops.....jesus.....even lappy's are becoming commodities now...
coupled with 2-yr warranties (through your credit cards), this is just brilliant...

Exactly what I'm looking for!!

Great find!

I'm thinking about going today, using BB's price guarantee tomorrow!

I just received my Reward Zone coupons today that are elligible starting 12-8

Theres a one day overlap for the video cards, so scoring an X1950Pro for $200-12% isn't bad at all.

If this is the same Toshiba that was up for Black Friday then ti comes with XP Home, not Media Center unless they bundle it with the laptop

The ad said Media Center, and the word "New" but that's not to say BB couldn't be making a mistake. I can't remember the specs of BF.

Dies anyone have a model number? It this the machine on this weeks ad at $479?

The machine for $479 is a C304NR. I don't think it's the same machine, as the $479 one has an 80GB HDD, not a 60GB that 1Cheap2Crazy describes.

Hey Audscott,
Checking out your system on the bottom there, how did you get your chip to 3400 without your RAM crapping out? I got OCZ 6400 and it only goes that high. BTW, what's the difference b/w the Allendale and Conroe?
Thanks.

Anyone else think it's kind of weird for Media Center to be on a laptop? Does this have any sort of tuner card in it?

I think it's weird that "XP HOME" is used at all and it's not ALL just Media Center.

Anyway you can get USB TV or USB HDTV tuners cheap these days, and certainly
want all the multimedia capabilities even if you're streaming or sharing media between
PCs / XBOX / whatever... Seems like a point of frustration if you didn't have
all the MCE stuff FWIW whatever you're trying to do.

Besides MCE upgrades to Vista Home Pro if they offer that so that'd be more
attractive than the relatively benefit-less Vista Home Basic which would really
be behind the times with no media capabilities!

BTW I thought $199 was MSRP for X1950PRO/256 cards.. at least IIRC that's what
I read in a few review site articles around the time the product was announced;
I'm a little frustrated / confused why it's so hard to find for 199 or less.
It's really not much faster than the X1900GT which it replaces, and it's cheaper
for them to make than the X1900GT was too... so something's rotten in Canada...

Opinions anyone?

I'd wait until January/February when you can pick up a better performing
new generation Direct X 10 compatible card for the same money.

ATI and NVIDIA will have new mid-range cards out then and the competition will
drive prices way down for the new models as well as the current 79xx and X1950 series..
