I ended up playing this game called Acquire the other day. First time I had played a board game in years and I must say it was a lot of fun. Any board game recommendations from you guys?

The best game I've seen in recent years for a large group (6-8 or more) is Apples to Apples.

Avalon Hill makes quite a few good games including Acqire and Tactics II. Although, Tactics II is a whole nuther genre of war gaming or Kriegspiel. Anyways, if you enjoy board games of any stripe, Avalon Hill games will make you think.

Risk is great. Stratego isn't too bad, either.

On a side note, has anyone ever played a COMPLETE game of Monopoly and actually enjoyed it?

me and my cousin, back when we were 10-12. We used to always play game after game after game. We would hardly speak since we had memorized all the prices and such.

No. Monopoly is something adults buy for teens to get them to go away and shut up for as long as possible. It is by far the most brainless, tedious game ever invented.
