Best athlete's foot stuff?

So, I literally haven't gotten athletes foot in 15 years. Now I have a little patch on the top of my left foot that's been hanging around (seemingly coming and going) for months. I've used a whole bottle of Tinactin that a girlfriend gave me, and I'm not sure it's doing anything. I'm going to go to the drug store and pick something else up, just thought I'd ask what people have had good experience with.

(and it makes me wonder if it's somehow on my sheets or socks or something -- both of which have been washed in hot water multiple times -- since it keeps "going away" and coming back in exactly the same spot. Or maybe it's not going away and I'm crazy.)

How do you know it's athlete's foot? A rash or skin irritation on your foot isn't necessarily athlete's foot. If Tinactin didn't work, you might want to see a dermatologist.

Well, I guess I don't. But it started when I, uh, occasionally decided it'd be a good idea to reuse gym socks (less laundry!). And it did go away. And, frankly, it looks and feels like athletes foot.

So maybe it's something else, but I doubt it.

I have the same issue. A little patch of athlete's foot between my little toe and the toe next to it.

I'll treat it with the anti-foot fungus cream, for as long as it takes to go away and then another 3 weeks afterwards, and then after stopping the treatment it comes back again in the exact same spot in about a month. This has cycled on and off for a year now. I have tried just about every over the counter creme available. Last time it happened I kept using the creme for a full month after it disappeared.

If it's on top of your foot and not between your toes or on the bottom of your foot, it's probably not athlete's foot. Seeing a doctor about it is probably the best route to take if you don't want your foot to turn black and fall off.:Q
