started in 2002, same reason why full metal alchemist 2003 isnt on that list (ended this year... was awesome)

i guess you could say, maybe like, the 3rd season (79-104) or 4th season (105+) of naruto which started this year (???)

you already see Tenjou Tenge/ Gantz?

saw gantz, what's tenjou tenge like?

Lotsa fighting (lotsa blood, DBZesque/Rurouni Kenshin/Naruto)
Drama (involving story line)
fanservice (almost ecchi, comedy)
good story (great character development, lotsa good use of imagery/flashbacks)
great artwork (superb, this is definitely a step above, google image search for Tenjou Tenge Manga Covers)
sucky ending (had to cram alot into one season, manga is great though)

Hopefully there's a season 2 since it was very very good. Hehe I was hoping School Rumble would be like Tenjou Tenge but it didn't turn out to be, so I was dissappointed.

Elfen Lied deserves to be higher; the opening itself can be watched in a loop without losing interest. And where is GITS: 2nd Gig?

Naruto Ball Z is getting boring with all the screaming and same moves OVER and OVER again. FMA should be considered as a 2004 series since it did continue well into 2004.... and what a series it was!

so have you seen other series on my list? i know elfen lied has a share of its loyal followers, but anything in my top 9 list clearly outclass it in one or another category. actually i think my list is well constructed, as top 9 are must sees for this year in my book. as for GITS, i havnt finished the first series due to lack of motivation after few episodes. quality is there, but not my type of show. doubt the second season would be much different.

to each his own, I usually wait until a series is finished to start watching it.

When I first saw the first ep of FMA, it wasn't that good until I saw 2-3 more eps. But then I noticed it was 52 eps so I just stopped watching until it finished. It was a great story line from what I could tell from the snippets.

Naruto is still great as a manga but the anime just didn't cut it for me. I followed that manga when it used to be done by toriyamaworld along with HnG. When I tried to watch the anime recently to see where it was in the manga (ep 105 or something), I saw that they diverted from the manga to allow it time to develop more storyline.

Elfen Lied hasn't finished so I won't watch it. But I"ll go look at the manga.

no its done the manga is syill being tranalstae dbut thats almost done also

Naruto was getting DBZ line but ep 107 whihc is now out starts it off with Naruto and sasuke fighting and thus is the start of major badassness. many great fights to come featureing most of the main chars, and it introduces some crazy new ones

naw Tenten is right up there with champloo, champloo seems like bebop but with swords.
