Man those are awesome pics. I've been following this thread and it's kind of inspirational, given the messy messy state of the inside of my case. Not to mention that you have a window without all the multicolored LEDs, which makes for an awesome look without being all teenager on us. Congrats on the great build.

Ok so here's the new pics I promised... I got out my dremel and put one hole near the power supply so that I can route wires directly behind the motherboard tray, one hole for my ide cable, and a third for the 4-pin power connector in the upper left corner of the mobo. I also removed the Zalman fan controller and now have the front 120mm fan and video card fan permanently 5 volted, and I swapped out the original fan in the power supply for an AC fan with less bearing noise. Finally, I got a 3-pin Y-connector and attached both my rear 120mm exhaust and my cpu fan to it, and now they're both controlled by Q-fan and never seem to go above 1000rpm and will slow down to 800rpm or sometimes less while idling. I also replaced my Zalman hard drive silencer with a new Alphacool setup that has room for two drives and sandwiches the drive between two thick layers of soundproof foam, and attaches to the bottom of the case with another decoupling piece of foam. Tell me what you guys think!

I'll get some good night shots later.

Very nice setup man!

But, I would recommend you do a few things:

1) get rid of the AC fans...very terrible motor noise humming at all speeds. I'd recommend instead the Yate Loons or if you need high flow, some Panaflos.

2) Since you have a perpendicular CPU HSF arrangement, to go truly exotic, make a cutout on the window and make a fan shroud directly feeding the CPU HSF

3) Ditch Asus Q-Fan. I always prefer to manually control everything with Speedfan instead. Helps phenomenally and essentially is a SW fan mate utility.

4) Why go to the foam for your drives? Do a suspension setup instead with some elastic cords. You got plenty of room there.

5) SPCR credits a pretty low fan noise for your PSU at low usage, but at moderate to high usage, it can get a bit louder. I would try to replace this with another Yate Loon if possible.

Again, great job on the cabling and cleanliness of the setup...

Thanks for the good advice. I was thinking of switching to yate loons and a ninja (possibly passive) but before I do anything else to reduce noise, I need to find a quieter video card cooler. The fan on the VF700 has some very bad humming even at 5v. Problem is, I don't know what's quieter than a VF700... I mean, an Arctic cooling setup won't fit, and the vf900 is practically identical except that it runs lower temps, so I'm really kinda stuck right now.

Oh yeah, and I've already replaced the stock fan in the Neopower with another AC fan I had laying around. Works just fine.

Thank you for the information. I finally bought a Thermalright XP-90C so I shouldn't have any problems at all. I also bought a Swiftech MCX159CU to replace the chipset cooler (which looks great but it's kinda expensive). Now I just need to receive the CPU and set up everything which I'll be doing by next week hopefully 😀

How did you do that wire mod in picture 6? I've been trying to figure out how to route the wires in back of the MoBo tray...any suggestions? Very nice job!

I used my dremel to make three holes: the first of course is the one in pic 6, the second being right underneath the motherboard where the IDE cable is, and the third is a small hole in the top left of the motherboard tray for the 4-pin power cable.

the links to the pics in the main post don't work anymore!

Edit: I'm refering to the first 3 groups of pics
